Benson Fox is different to Stretton Fox - and uses different technology and ideas. George did start off with Mr Benson, but they went their separate ways.

Paul at IJC will be doing them I think
Hi Everyone, a few people have been mentioning this subject so I thought it would be useful to have a brief history of how I got to be Stretton Fox!

I wouldn’t normally go into this, but you have all shown such awesome support I feel the least I can do is give you the story!

The business idea started around Summer 2011 when I was looking to get involved with Cricket. This led to focusing on technology developed from high-end ballistic protection. My idea at the time was to apply to sports, and there is an exclusive agreement between myself, and the body using this technology for military/forces purposes.

These are pretty hi-end people and some of the equipment and technology they have would honestly make most people in this forum weak at the knees! So my intention, is whenever possible I will be applying these technologies into Cricket and other sports. Starting with the guards classified as “Blunt trauma shielding”. Obviously I am not allowed to publish certain products due to the nature of their origin, but when given the green light I have some very exciting items lined up!

All physical and intellectual development of this technology and application into sport was handled by both myself and the division responsible for ballistic protection. Since day 1, I have been involved as the founder and director of its development for sport now being used by Stretton Fox. Patents were applied for and agreements signed, so it’s my head on the block! Believe me these are not the sort of people you would mess around with!

When I was initially setting up the business, I needed a business partner who could work on generating sales, a mutual contact was Peter Benson and we created Benson Fox, which after around 10 Months had become a disaster through very slow movement and his taking advantage and almost bankrupting the company without my knowledge until it was too late. We decided to go our separate ways and I left the business to create Stretton Fox. Peter Benson’s background is with yarns for fabric primarily for socks (sales rep) and we did make some nice socks, which I walked away from. But any agreements regarding this technology were instantly taken with myself as the trouble caused had upset a lot of important people.

If Peter were still looking to create similar products, he would be in direct breach of a forces contract, which is really not a wise thing to do. He had a tendency to talk a lot of hot air which got me worried as I would never wish anyone on this forum or elsewhere to be taken advantage of both financially or through wasted time.

I am also pleased to say that the technology we are using now for the body protection is significantly more advanced that it was at the time. Not to mention what’s around the corner (Just gave a sneek to Buzz!).

Anything he has to say is unlikely to be relevant or up to date, as the technology has moved on considerably since his departure. The technology has been developed from a molecular level (seriously).

That covers the outline of it ! so now you know ☺ !

Found it! :-) I left it in the shop! After all that... I blame the "what's in my kit bag video" I did. Easy to lose your own kit afterwards with all the shop stock camouflaging it!

Pleased to confirm that it's official now: we will be stocking Stretton-Fox - not just the thigh pads, but also arm guards, chest guards and shin pads.  Expecting our first batch of kit to arrive on Tuesday, and you will be able to order online from then as well...

Paul, are the different photos of both the inner and outer thigh guards, the different shapes that are available? I'm still slightly confused

Not really the place but... Any plans to update your size guide on your website to include Stretton-Fox and Aero sizes? Apologies if I've missed them listed elsewhere.

Yes the different photos are the different sizes. Paul how about I add some text to each photo to indicate this ? Maybe with dimensions 24cmx32cm for example ? there are also photos with all sizes lined up we can use perhaps so the difference in scale becomes obvious ?
