Hey guys, I figured, since I have broken my main resolution of the year, no dining at fast food chains for a year except Subway, (To be fair, I did have a rough exam and just wanted to drown my sorrows in fried chicken) I decided I may as well do a mini-blog which I update maybe once a week or so. I am mainly doing this to lose weight and improve my fitness levels for the cricket season. I actually started this about 3-4 months ago, but gave up after the first month, and I lost just short of a stone in weight and ended up around 13st 2lb. I was just a little over 14 stone before, so was very impressed by how much better I looked and felt. Since then, I have put on around 2-3kg, so I am a little disappointed in myself, but with so little cricket going on (Club Winter nets start in February this year) and exams flying about, I couldn't really find the time to keep fit! Now that it is the start of the new semester and year with exams out the way until May, I reckon now is the best time to start again!
So here are the results of my fit test. I am pretty disappointed by the results, and actually had to go to the bathroom just after the 7th exercise and ended up throwing up and lying on the floor in comatose state for about 5 minutes!

But this is the 3rd time I have ever thrown up as a result of exercise, and the second time I have done so in this fit test! (The other time was just after a Cross Country race) I think I managed to hold out until after the 8th exercise in the other fit test!
Switch Kicks - Around 99 proper ones
Power Squats - Around 65-68 (Writing is a little messy, so could be either...)
Power Knees - 87
Power Jumps - 28
Globe Jumps - 8
Suicides - 11
Jack Push-ups - 17
Plank Obliques - 35, but I think realistically, I would have gotten around the 25 mark...
All in all, disappointed, but happy that these are the results. Shows that I can't expect just to be ready straight off, and I will push harder to get into shape before the cricket season. These were the results of my first official fit test a few months ago...
Switch Kicks – 107
Power Jacks – 54
Power Knees – 65
Power Jumps – 30
Globe Jumps – 8
Suicides – 13
Push-up Jacks – 30
Plank Oblique – 30
Bearing in mind that I had actually done the fit test once before this, along with the power, plyometric and max recovery videos, and the cricket season was just ending, I guess the results show that I have lost a little bit of my endurance, but that is to be expected with so little exercise recently and also the fact I am still recovering from a virus.
Oh, and pictures and weights! I will conduct this like a scientific experiment, so I will have to wear the same kind of clothes, (underwear, socks, tracksuit bottoms and a T-shirt) while weighing myself, and will do this once a week before the workout. I even went into John Lewis and bought a set of digital bathroom scales! Did not realise how much stuff they sell in there, but despite this, no decent cricket gear...
Apologies in advance for the potentially scarring pictures, but I am doing this on this forum in particular as I spend quite a lot of my time on it now, so if I do it this way, then I have no excuse not to do insanity really! I believe that fitness is a big thing in pretty much every sport you do, so if you are someone who doesn't mind working your body to the limit around 5 times a week for about 40 minutes each time (Or throwing up once every so often!), then keep checking this blog to see if it would be worth your time.

After the first month of doing insanity, I definitely felt a big improvement in my balance while batting, and felt really confident in the university nets!

It also helps your flexibility, as I could barely touch my toes at the start, but could put my palms to the floor with ease after the first 3 weeks.

I hope this is of some use to people! I bought the DVD set, and it is worth every penny if you can bring yourself to do it!
PS. The video will be uploaded onto youtube, and I am trolled by my brother for a chunk of the video...
