I'm keeping very quiet!  :(
I could ask the same of you ;)

I ask because even with only 10 shiny bats, I couldn't use all of them!

What do you do with it all? I have two sets of kit for use midweek and weekends. When do you wear each of your for pairs of shoes for example? Do you cycle through kit and bats? Do you have favourites? I'm intrigued as I wouldn't know what to do with it all...

I try to use them whenever I can.

I have five pairs of shoes and out of them four have been used while fifth were recently purchased from IJC sale.

During season and matches I try to stick with one kit and use it throughout the season but once the season is over, I have a cycle. Meaning I'll use specific pads, bat and gloves for four weeks then move to another one.

Definitely I have favourites, Screaming Cat leading the bats, Gray  Legend pads leading the pads, Salix Pod Black gloves leading the gloves and Ayrtek Elite leading in helmets.

But having said that, some bats are still brand new and haven't been used albeit they have been in my possession for a good period of time. It is definitely fun collecting these bits, but extremely addictive and bloody expensive hobby to have.

I will need to find a large area first!
Let me try to plan it as I will need room for a mental amount of kit!  :(

at one point I had 20 and it was after a net with one of my mates who is an ex-pro that I decided to heed what he said which was that at pro level he was always encouraged to net and play in the same gear and using the same bat as it encouraged consistency. I now have 6 bats, which is still too many, but 2x two have an almost identical pick up, one is glorious and the other is for fun. I think you are far likely to be a better batsmen at our level if you are consistent in your approach to the kit you use and change only if what you have really doesn't work for you! Might be a slightly controversial view though!

probably not  million miles away for pros - but they do not face the wide range of conditions that us clubbies do, now do they...

Haha, it is a cracking bat mate. Feel one is not enough.

Thanks for your message Tim, I appreciate it. Nothing was controversial, I really like the way you send your message across, which is in a humble, decent and pleasant manner :).

I completely agree with you, consistency is key component to success. In fact, I too have tried that if I stick with same gear for a long time then I tend to do better, rather than changing it every now and then. Hence, as I mentioned earlier for this season I stuck to same gear throughout. Our season starts in May, whereas when April starts I get myself in season gear and start using it so when season comes I'm immune to the feel of that gear. So changing gear definitely doesn't work out.

This was first time I followed this approach and in result I saw my gloves wearing out which satisfied me as I made full use of them.

Having said all that I'm always trying to trim my kit but then I end up buying this or that. Trimming is not main aspect rather resisting is.

Not trying to say I'm overlooking what you said, believe me I often become sad when I see all of my gear together. Makes me ponder on fact how much I have spent on this and how I still haven't used some of the gear. But then as I said it is very addictive, we/I love cricket the most after my Religion and family so at the end I fall for it.

But once again many thanks for your kind post, means a lot and I appreciate profusely :)

Just come to West and take it mate ;)

I wish I had two SCATS :D

tend to agree. My H4L is great for dealing with bounce and idiots who think they can bounce, but on a low deck it's hopeless and I need a bigger toe. I use my GM Icon+ for the job. Similar weight (all my bats are within half an ounce), similar pickup and the middle is roughly in the same place as well. I don't have to change my batting technique, just the tool for the job.
