Pre Match Food
« on: May 23, 2013, 02:27:09 PM »

So I was wondering what everybody has as part of their pre match food routine. Is it as simple as anything left in the fridge including last nights left over kebab (I know for some this may seem odd for differing reasons!), or have you planned your food to give you the best nutritional boost you can.

Hopefully we can share some tips with each other to help, I know I'd certainly like some as I tend to be traveling over that lunch period and I know I should be eating something better before playing.

I always used to travel, so I got into the habit of making a packed lunch and eating it in the car on the way ( I was travelling for ~1 hr to play). That way I got what I wanted and it all worked out nicely.

Usually get a sandwich and a banana from sainsbury's or co op on the way to the club.  Have the sandwich when I get there and the banana just before the game starts

So you carb load as if you were running a marathon, then sit around waiting to bat and hang around in the slips for 30 overs?

Pre match food seems to be a possible McDonalds breakfast when travelling to away games if people fancy it!

At home Penut butter on toast, bread so thick it has to go under the grill.

Maybe take a banana or 2 to the game to eat before

I was thinking that, odd choice!

Omlette with spinach and peppers for breakfast, covered with half a bottle of tobasco :)

Then banana and a swift half on the way to the ground #athlete
