The hologram looks to have been lifted from another bat. It is positioned in the wrong place, only 10000 and 12000 bats have the hologram there, and even then they sit parallel with the edges, so the big CA sticker and the 'CA' in the hologram are lined up. This hologram follows the curve of the 'c' suggesting foul play.

Just put it this way...

Ill swap ya!!  ;)

This is the thing.... It pings!!! The Williow isn't bad at all

I have a sneaking suspicion that is a fake too

Hologram sticker in the wrong spot, where it says English willow on the splice the w in willow shouldn't run onto the tree colour.

The 1 on the back sticker shouldn't run onto the colour and that colour should be green

Again suggesting potentially a genuine CA just not a 15000. Frustrating thing is the changes over the last couple of years and the all round inconsistencies mean it's never a clear cut case. I've said to the seller I will take pics of this bat with one I know is genuine from the same year of make.

Sorry to hijack the thread somewhat but does anyone own a CA Plus 15000 from 2012 and would be willing to provide pics for comparison?

Everyone I know with one has the one with silver "CA" stickers the embossed 2013 stickers.

Another thing I noticed that is missing is the registered mark ®

you can check on the Ca website if it's genuine or not by adding the code on the bat

Thanks for that, it's useful however I think I may have answered my own question. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but there have only ever been two sticker designs for the 15000. The initial release had Silver "CA" and "15000" and the revision has them in gold, embossed and a different "fully knocked" sticker.

You can see the two bats side by side in the pic below although the silver and gold may not be that apparent:

Silver:

Gold embossed:

And then the one I have, it has both Gold (CA) and silver (15000). I don't think this was every done by CA???

They're Defo getting better at trying to fake these but clearly don't pay attention to detail!

Seemingly they're able to fake this somehow as well.

Don't you think the best solution is to buy from a approved seller in UK(there are quite a few who stocks CA). At least we won't be asking if the bat is fake.

True.

I blame CA to a point too. I'm sure people could do this with GN, GM, Kookaburra etc. but it is the control on stickers which has to change.

The fake stickers are very good quality, which makes me think they are real, but the model of CA doesn't match.

All I know is that I won't be doing it again!

I don't disagree but there always bargains to be had on eBay. Invariably what seems like a bargain isn't quite a bargain after all. I didn't pay anywhere near the price a CA plus 15000 would be from a UK retailer. But I think I have a case to put to eBay.

i agree with you. It is very easy to get hold of stickers  and other authentication material in sub continent so bats look like they are original. How can a bat be cheaper than the actual trade price. we get huge amount of calls from sellers in UK to sell us CA and few other brands at rediculously cheap prices. As soon as we start questioning them they either put the phone or come up with some unbelievable stories.
All i say if you want the original stuff , plz buy it from a retailer and if in doubt you can check with the manufacturer if they have supplied goods to that retailer.

I bought a CA bat which had Test and Plus stickers on it. (Can't remember which way round, but it was Plus on one side and Test on the other.) I don't doubt that it was an authentic CA 5000, the wood did look good and it responded well, was a fairly CA-like profile without much concaving at all, but the stickers were just applied wrongly. I think what CA may do is sell bats to these people at lower prices, since they are 'faulty', and maybe it's just a bother to correct them, who knows!

Yet the lad who started this thread could of had a genuine trd from Asad for £50 more than what he paid. And to be honest his first 'genuine' trd doesn't look that great as well.

I wouldn't call them bargains if they are fakes... Would you?
