Mid-week T20. Fielding first, came in as legspin bowler on the first change. First two balls got smashed for a 6 then a four. Apart from too short, time for a rethink. Ended up with three wickets, two clean bowled, one caught behind. Got one with my quicker off break arm ball which was nice. They dropped three dropped catches off my bowling, one easy, two Fifthy fifthy. I caught one on the boundary at chest hight but my backward step took it over the rope. Idiot! In my defence they had a hose behind the painted boundary and in the corner of my eye I thought I had plenty of room. Obviously not. Must try harder. Came in at 9 with the run rate beyond reasonable reach. Got settled with a few runs on the board then flicked one off my legs to square leg, oops. Nice shot, shame I made it easy for him. Over all a good game against a better opponent. Hope to be at full strength next time.

League game washed out on sat but had a touring team from Blackpool play us on sunday, they've come down for 5 years now.

Opened the batting on a hot day and made a very sweaty 33 off 53 balls.  Including a drive for 6 over straight-ish cow...like there is such a place!  Was scoring fairly quickly at one point but after a couple of wickets had to regroup a little before I was bowled by a grubber.  Thanks to some lower order power we set 195-9 (after being 91-6) from 35 overs

Didn't want to bowl as I wanted to give the other lads a go as I had a decent bat :)
Won by about 70 runs!

...before I was bowled by a grubber.
Glad it's not just me getting them !!!

Anyhow had some fun this evening when the opposition didn't turn up for 20/20 but only decided to email anyone 15 minutes after the scheduled start of the match. As it was, we only had 10 but this actually worked out fine as we then had a pairs competition between us. I paired with an autistic lad who also has mild cerebral palsy and we batted first putting on 40 but the next 3 pairs failed to get anywhere near our total then the final pair come in being my cousin and the team skipper. First 5 overs and their score is 39 before I bowled the final over. They get 3 runs off first 4 balls so you would think they would block the last couple. However my cousin simply can't resist slogging so on the 5th ball he misses a straight one and is plumb LBW taking them down to 37 so they need 4 off the final ball. Unfortunately the final ball is an absolute pie which he agriculturaly mows to the cow corner boundary but it was a lot of fun and something I've not done for years (playing pairs that is, serving up pies is somewhat of a weekly ritual !!).

Finally some league runs on Saturday, batted 32 overs to get our 2nd XI over the line chasing 212 scoring 74. Also got 2-30 odd from 10 overs, back in the 1's this weekend :)

Forcast states Temperature  could peak at 23 centigrade for Worcestershire at around 2pm today with  showers or Thunderstorms around 6 pm. Playing against the divisions leaders  and have a weak bowling attack so considering the forcast no wish to field first and then have to possibly chase 250 plus.
