Having a bit of a weston as a Saturday team this year following promotion last season into the WEPL. Nothing has seemed to have clicked even thought we have the talent in the team application seems to be lacking.

We lost by 249 runs on Saturday after a lad for them scored 129* off of 45 balls seeing them declare on 354 and clean us out for 105. I was a bit pre-occupied trying to sort my car out as he deposited one through my back window on his way to his 100.

How's Bennie Ian ? See it was against Potterne who we played last week. I said that Roberts was rapid.

He's on the mend, it was a horrible injury! The ball went up under his helmet and broke his jaw. Yeah he was fairly sharp, he got me out up their place caught at 3rd man in the first over! Apparently on Saturday they had 9 out of 11 Wiltshire county players, so they look a good outfit that's for sure

Raincards at the ready!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/

Looks like only the North might get a full game in. At least those in the South will have it called off early.

I would be very surprised if nobody calls off by the morning following the first band of overnight thunderstorms.

Good week so far, played some touring Aussies and a two other tour games as well as the pathetic t20 game. Unfortunately the tour games don't go on play cricket but I've managed nearly 400 runs this week since Monday. Got the weekends games and then two more tour games and the national civil service game coming up next week before the weekend arrives again.. Lshould be plenty of runs hopefully so I can close in on 2k runs for the year by August.

Another game in the thirds today, won the toss and batted first as we have no batsmen in our team. I took 2-24 off 7 overs. They went on to score 175-8 any way, they then bowled us out for a dire 49.

It's a shame as we haven't got a half bad bowling attack, but our batting is so poor.

Hot and sticky, rain (covers on), stopped raining, moped up, sawdust down, rain, covers on, covers off, 36 overs a side - won the toss and batted, at 151 for 3 off 33 it was pitch black with the fielders unable to see the ball so taken off, heavens opened and cue the thunder........long day for 6 points + 2 bonus batting points (I got as far as padding up).

My game was off so I text a mate and he had a space. It was quite enjoyable playing wih no pressure, and with some really young lads. I opened the batting and we were only chasing 182, put I got to help a load of their Jnrs while batting till my mate came in and we finished it off. Gotta say I enjoyed it more than my proper game.

Shame it won't show up on my profile though :(

Opposition turned up with only 8 players, none of their big guns and put us into bat. Unfortunately heavens opened 1.1 overs into the match and that was that. I faced just one delivery which I defended then made a swift exit from the field of play.

Anyhow the best bit of the day was on the way home when the lad I was giving lift comes out with the classic line that I can take today's form into next week.  :D

Looks like we were one of the few to get a game in
Batted first declared on 300 off 40 overs to try and get a win
Managed another ton
Bowled em out for under a hundred

Batted first today on a very hot and muggy day. Opened and only made 7 before being caught one handed by a diving point, managed to look like we were going to get a big score but lower middle and tail managed to blow that as we lost 6 wickets in 8 overs for 7 runs. Managed 189 all out. The ball was swinging all day.

In the fired we bowled really well, I bowled 1st change and had it hooping all over the place, bowled 9-4-2-17 but couldn't quite get in across the line as the pre No 11 hit an inside edge to the boundary to win the game. Lost 4 on the bounce now.
