No one will give you "sponsorship" as such simply because there would be no direct benefit.

Most of the larger brands will give you discount off "factory price" which always seems to be a little steep anyway.

When I used to play county 2's, the best I was offered was 2 free bats and 50% off everything else.

Unless you can approach a really small company (try Neon, Vulcan, Island Cricket, Vanquish Cricket, Mars etc) you probably aren't going to get much for the reason stated above.

I was never expecting to just be given a full 100% sponsorship just some good discounts on kit! as i believe in my current position I could advertise a company well with the sort of players I'm playing with and the amount of children I coach.

Thanks for the list of useful contacts !

I've got to admit, I don't get why the level matters in amateur cricket. A few guys in the top divs aren't going to shift you much kit compared to the run scorers in divs 3/4/5 who will be seen by more people and probably do far more than just turn up thinking they are stars.

Agree and disagree as a kind of exposure expert called by my superior The Doctor I have a habit of sniffing real pulling power from the usual dandruff exposure.

Sponsorship or discount is a simple thing bit like bats people over complicate too much with BS words but I have a real nose for this stuff

Woodstock sorted me with a full kit at a very good price while I was in the UK simply because I played in the Kent Premier League!

To the poster - Goodluck down here mate hope you enjoy it! And Kudos to you for being so eager to coach as well while you play.

I think JPGavan in Sydney would probably be a great way to go. Josh has some great gear and really looks after his players.

JP Gavan is good if you are in Sydney. Very approachable, and he is now looking for sponsorships

Looking at his page, appears he only sponsors those fringing on state selection?

If Santa Claus is on holiday at Woodstock he is probably visiting Gecko Cricket handing out their Christmas cards

At least 5 times a day people tweet for sponsorship, £185 is my best for a bat. WellI can get a bat, gloves, pads and a bag from the from (insert gecko or Woodstock) is the usual response. My response, well there you go, you have a great deal so get stuck in.

You should see my inbox Garrett...

Mars/Gecko/Woodstock/Simply/Vanquish/Sabre being the main culprits

I had an application from a lad just this morning and he stated that his last 2 'sponsorships' were Woodstock and Mars - baring in mind he's only 13!!
