Hi all wasnt sure where to put this but, I was just wondering whether anyone knew what the measurements are for the length of the blade and and the length of the handle was on the mongoose mmi3 bat is as I have a part made and have decided I would like to try replicating it.

Basically equal, keep trying unil yup find it's the right size to cover most of your regular hitting area

39cm from toe to base of the shoulder

42.5 cm from toe to the bottom off the handle (roughly where the grip starts)

42cm length of the handle

They might not be 100% accurate but it's as accurate as I could see.

If you are working with a part made, surely you won't be able to replicate an MMi?

I can only presume he plans to shape the willow I to the extra large handle, as opposed to an extra large handle that the mongoose has?

Correct a mongoose has a reverse splice. But if your part made has already been handled, there is only so much you can do isn't there? Removing willow around that area will create a weak point, which i think maybe was part of the reason behind the reverse splice on the mongoose?

I've seen this sort of thing done before, it seemed to come out ok but getting the mongoose shape was apparently very hard and the toe and edge came out a lot smaller.

I plan to double twine to increase the strength of the join just incase I hope it isn't a problem but of it breaks I suppose it is a lesson learnt and the standard of cricket I play I doubt it will break especially as we use �20 balls in our league so there not bat breakers
