Thanks @Sivlar13, pretty happy with the outcome. Stickers feel and look pretty dated compared to today's standard. Presume the bat is around 10 years old.

Bought this M&H off Ebay, looking to refurb. after taking the Fibre Glass tape off.....i almost put it on the fire, lots of wood soft on the top, delamination etc....

PVA here we go....

Quick Sand to see the results. found a bit more delamination. So i am at the half way stage. I will take the parcel tape off and start the finer sanding and then get round to doing the back and top of the face.

This will be my Net bat as i have somehow now bought 3 more bats :-)

1 from Vitas, a reduced Lion for £50 which was classed as 'Heavy' but is a dream pick-up.
1 Slazenger V 800 for when i have a hangover and cant lift a heavy bat for £30 on ebay which i have brought back to life.
1 Slazenger V 1200 because you cant have enough light bats.
2 more which i am purchasing when the money rolls in on Friday.

Will Post Result over the weekend once completed.

Was this from the M&H direct?

I can imagine the sale pitch now...

"This is one from our recent trade in offer. It has been lightly used, but not enough to warrant a refurb. No warranty, and yours for a mere £149.99. That's less than £150 for a bat with Made in England stickers. Bargain!"

Is that brown parcel tape?  :(

Presume so, that's what I use instead of a clamp.

Yes it is brown parcel tape, ran out of clear...so did Wickes.

So now i have completed the Refurb on front and sides, leaving the back 'rustic'.

Finished the sanding with 800G Waxed, polished, extratec applied and a funky sticker.

Now completed 8 bats, getting better each time.

Comments welcome, or any Tips welcome.

Your refurb looks good, personally not bothered by the sticker, but that's a personal opinion. The most shameful thing though is the thick white tape at the bottom of a saggy grip. No no no.  :D

Couple more done this morning.

My old GN 606 (I think) had a crack in the toe, which is why I its been in the garage for 8-10 years...

well, I have glued, clamped and sanded as below:-

The Crack is 1 inch on front and maybe 3 on the back.

I have never dowelled a bat, but could give it a go... any tips, or ideas apart from wrap it in Fiberglass tape?

A few bats I have worked on recently.

First team skipper's Slazenger that was in very good nick.

Mmmmm, check out this beauty.

My makeshift workspace as I don't have a workshop or garage. Either will be high up the agenda when it comes to buying my first house!

That butterfly looks fantastic, love the way it fans out across the face, could almost hang it on the wall as modern art
