The handle is still in tact. I will try opening the crack even more, glue the crack and bind it. I will only be using it for nets/preseason however as I am knocking in a new bat

The crack is result of the handle joint failing either the canes have started to delaminates putting too much stress in the shoulder that's led to the split or it's been incorrectly fitted, either way you can repair without rehandling but it's very likely the split will just open up again

Similar to my teammates Kookaburra which had a split each side of the handle? That is still staying strong after your rehandle and repair so well done Tom!
I was in fear that it may not stay strong enough as big Ben hits it harder than anyone I know. But it is holding up so fingers crossed  ;)

Whats best to use to give a bat a lovely shine if you've refurbed it yourself so the only tools you have is a bit of elbow grease and cloth....??

Get some 800 grit paper - shines like a diamond in a goats bottom so good scuff doesn't  even stick to it

Tom finished my refurbs beautifully and I did ask him what he waxed/finished them with as it was so smooth! But he would not tell me!  :(
Trade secret or something he has experimented with? Not sure which but I figured he was entitled to keep it to himself!  ;)

Opposed to starting a new thread I felt this would be best put here.

I want to thicken the bottom of my handle something similar to the way people put half a grip underneath a second grip - the thing is that I don't have a grip at the moment to cut up and put underneath, is there an alternative way of doing this.

Could I potentially put medical tape (this pink kind of spongy one) on top of the twine on the bottom of the handle to simulate?

Tape would work fine, could use medical tape as you say, or electrical tape, I think there's Kinesiology tape too, or you can add a second layer of binding on the bottom half of the handle, the latter is my preference as you get the desired thickness without the super spongy feel you can get with two grips when you can't actually feel the handle in your hands which I personally like to be able to do

I suppose in some places in the U.K. it still feels like winter...

I purchased two rather good looking Kippax bats off the Bay earlier this year as I was, of course, intrigued by the weight and edge size - both edges measuring 47mm, both around the 2.10 mark.

I sent them to the legend that is @tom line and he sorted me right out. If anyone is looking for a place to send their bats for a refurb then look no further; Tom's refurbs are profession and his polishing is honestly the best I've ever seen. The attention to detail is second to none and for a lad in his mid to late teens, it is highly impressive!

Anyway, here's the pictures! Cheers again, Tom!
