Why are people surprised that players use or try other bats from time to time? or even have more than one person make bats for them  :o

More bored than surprised, I think.

The thing is everyone knows it happens, it always has and always will.
Bit of a non-event really

Let's remind ourselves of Alex Hales in May last year...

If everyone knew it happened, wouldn't it become pointless for brands to sponsor players? And, further down the line, for cricket bats to have stickers on them at all?

Flashy stickers sell bats to kids and the uninformed then.
I think everyone with half a braincell knew KP didn't ever use an Adidas bat for example, but how many juniors do you see wielding a KP Pellara?

Kind of sad, don't you think?

Unfortunately mate, it's just one of those things.
Bat stickers are nothing more than an advertising canvas for brands.

Let's face it, if a brand can give away (let's just say) a couple of pairs of pads, 10 pairs of gloves and some sets of bat stickers to an international player thats their advertising. Said player is seen on telly scoring a hundred and suddenly a load of kids want a bat like him!
It may be sad, but all the while it generates sales it isn't going to change.

Speculating to accumulate. Most people who watch cricket are not as educated on bats as those on here. I have to admit I saw the pictures on various websites today and never even thought anything about it, perhaps I'm used to seeing ton bats being used with other stickers or I, like the majority of the public saw a happy No with a Kook in his hand!

depends who you talk too, quite a few claim to make for players at the end of the day. Quite easy to make a bat, get the right stickers, get them to sign it for you and then say 'hey, this was KP's because we make for him'

So who is making KP's bats, I know he changes the stickers himself but don't know who makes them

smoke and mirrors. No one confirms or deny's making players bats.. so all say they do. If it impresses even just one person to buy a bat from them because x does then boom.. job done.. theyve got your cash.. win win for them

Exactly my point!
If you beleive everything you're told though, TK makes 1500 bats an hour, 30 hours a day, 8 days a week.

As nobody (generally) confirms or denies making bats for *insert player here* most people will never be certain who's really using what.
