I am rather bemused how you can say that tiny dent, on the back of the bat, can have put you off it so much. Will it affect performance? no. Is it a massive dent or hole in the bat? no

It will be fine, it will pick up plenty of dinks throughout its life, as most bats do, so would you let that put you off? What happens when you edge one and it leaves a tiny surface crack? will it put you off?

Looks a lovely stick regardless, hint of GM with the stickers and colourway

Very nice bat. I love my two CA's. Just out of interest can you weigh your bat?  just want to know if its weight matches the weight sticker on the edge.

It Weighs 2.10 exact so not that bad

That looks massive for 2lb 9oz, what does it pick up like?

Pick up is great on it feels really good

I use steam mate i spit on the area and boil a kettle as it starts to steam it will pull the wood back out leave a tiny crack but will do the trick i do it to little dinks in mine.

Thanks for advice and help i will give that a try

I noticed no sticker saying 'fully knocked' - about time they got rid of that, it's the most ridiculous statement ever.

Oh, and a genuine offer here. If it actually weighs 2'9, i'll knock it in for free ;)

Well it weighs 2.10 but I did tell them that I want it around 2.9 or 2.10 after the stickers and grip is put on so got what I wanted. Picks up very light and that much wood in that weight is just not easy to get. Such a top cleft.

I'm really fussy lol. Paying a huge amount for a bat and it coming with a dent is depressing

When paying top dollars you expect to receive a top looking sl**, you can play it around and leave marks all over, doesn't matter.

Personally I get the sandpaper and bat wax out as soon as I get home and give the tiny surface crack some attention...  :-[

Nice bat, don't ruin it with steam or water...its a dent and I understand its disappointing but the damage you could do with steam or water could be much worse. I had similiar happen to my top of the line salix and decided to live with the dent rather than try to fix it. In the end its your choice, but you will regret it forever if you ruin your brand new and expensive bat...

Steam or water does not ruin a bat mate it pulls dinks out thay make be a bit big for this way but it does not ruin bats all the best batmakers in the world have used this way for year.

Dave, batmakers and professionals are one thing as it is their trade, for someone like me it could ruin a bat. Unless the OP has had a lot of experience fixing issues it is important to proceed with caution.

I understand that but we are talking very small amounts it not really for this type of dink more little edge dinks but a very small amount mate does pull them out think it could be time for a demo video.

The bat looks a real beasty nice bats them CA.

^ A demo video would be nice as I have a perfect candidate for the experiment.

@shax12 I tried Dave's spit and stream method of repairing the dinks on one of my bats today.

It worked perfectly, I was surprised how well it turned out, give it a try,

The dints in mine were quite deep, stud marks, and they've been there for a while,

Just tried the spit and steam trick, worked a treat.  Thanks for the tip Dave.
