well done, there is hope for all us over 50's.  Sounds like the secret is a full set of new kit.

Not playing today. Anyone who has had the pleasure of lyndworth away (warks league) on a cold day will understand the joy im feeling. On the other hand im going down the villa, which will probably mean at 5pm id rather be at lyndworth.

Played at lyndworth on a cold day in a friendly.
Weather not great in Worcestershire Worcesteshire today temp around 53 mid afternoon overcast showers getting heavier after 5 pm win the toss bat first in  the best of the conditions inc the wicket or lose the toss and get asked to bat.

Rained off.

Despite constant rain from ball one. The umpires removed us from the field after 28 overs due to the new bowler bowling to beamers.

We then never got back on.

Personally I made my second 50 in a row. 66 from 47 balls.  Team was 151 for 2 with 18 overs remaining.

Rock hard track at home so played through the drizzle, bowled them out for 98 (6 for 9 for me) and our openers knocked it off in quick time. Considering last season we went up and they came down I can only think they've lost players as were pants!

2nd game for new club today and my second shocking lbw decision and this was made worse as being from a league appointed umpire. Scored 3 and we lost by 4 wickets on one of the coldest days I can remember playing cricket in, had 4 layers on.

I have a game tomorrow and Monday so hopefully my season will get going with the bat soon. Keeping is going well though so be thankful for something

Try using a different bat pal!  ;)
As far as bad form with the bat goes I've not got a run yet this season (and may not get a game tomorrow due to lack of interest :(

I hear you on the poor form. I was caught for 9. Never had such a bad start to the season. We were bowled out for 134 on a terrible pitch. their bowling was genuinely woeful. First change bowler opened with 3 consecutive wides.
We then bowled them out for 61. 9 of them were bowled 1 LBW. Says it all about the pitch. To compound matters the tea was awful. It was cold too.

Coldest day I've ever played today, first league game, first win
60 odd with the bat, missed a straight one and bowled
New bats still too good for me

Freezing here in Sheffield, base layer, two shirts, jumper, hand warmers in pockets and I was still cold. Probably the coldest day I think I've played in recent years.

Won easily though, bowled the opposition out for 58 in a wet and cold 40 overs then knocked them off for one down in 8 overs.

Didn't bat but bowled 3 fairly tidy overs, long way off how I used to be able to bowl but it's a start.
