Only had 8 players today opposition scored 205 we were all out for 90 if the wicket had been a pudding it would have been a good track got a dodgy lbw hit the ball onto the top of my pads from a right arm around going across me.

Poor team performance today, we were 102 all out on our minefield wicket. 9 with the bat personally after getting an absolute jaff (frustrating as I felt in good touch).
They ended up chasing it down after 16 overs for 3 wickets. All of which I got! Which I am really chuffed with as I've been working really hard on my leg spin over the winter, I got two wickets in my first two balls and ended up 3.2 - 1 - 18 - 3 which is my best bowling figures since becoming an adult!

Another early finish - played away lovely ground and track normally but the covers it appeared had only been put on after yesterday's downpour so a damp dog.

We won the toss put them in, bowled them out for 83 and knocked it off 4 down (I'm showing my age but with our number 3 missing the age of our top 6 batting wise were: 16, 25, 18, 15, 20, 18). So 3 games in and still not required to wield the willow, 5 for 31 with the ball though (all caught in the ring with mistimed shots speak volumes about the track).

Not a great day but, batted at number 9, got a 2nd ball duck- nailed one to the only fielder that could catch! We were all out for 125 which was poor
We then had them 8 down chasing, I bowled 15 overs on the reel for 42 and got two wickets, including a dubious lbw

Day 1 of not playing - I hate this!

I got updates on the 1st, 2nd and 4th team and found out the 6th team won.
I'm waiting to find out how the 3rds did an will read every team's match reports when they go up.

I'll only miss another 4 training sessions and 3 matches before I can play again...  :(

Another team win, decent display to easily chase 228. Only got 18 as the league umpire decided to give me lbw after hitting it 😂

I'd be angry but that's 4 out of 13 league innings now!! Seriously considering resigning from first team cricket because of league umpires.. They are terrible

Tomorrow we have a new opposition which is always fun to try to convince them we really are as terrible as we are. Also big F you to Lambeth council who decided to carry out maintenance work so we have to go to Putney instead. Ahh well, I will try to have an okay day with the ball and score more than 22. New bowlers are always a laugh and the river is next door so I think we will loose a ball or two!

I have mentioned it before but I have been supporting the cricketing ambitions of an autistic lad (now is the 4th season of doing this) and yesterday (Saturday) my efforts finally came to fruition.

For quite complicated reasons but mainly because our 2nd XI had a free week, I ended up taking this lad to play for the village side he turned out for last season whilst I didn't have a match. I wasn't intending to stay but as neither team had an umpire, I offered my services which were readily accepted. The village side won the toss and decided to field and the lad in question came on first change. He's always had the ability to bowl OK but up until now, has never bowled with enough consistency that's allowed captain's to give him more 3-4 overs in league matches. Well everything changed yesterday as he bowled on the spot from the very first delivery to the very last of his 12 over spell (the maximum allowed per bowler in our division). He finished with 3 wickets for 41 runs which I think is a marvellous achievement by the lad himself and also shows how open-minded some clubs are when it comes to disabilities.

If your club has someone with autism wanting to get involved, don't shun or ignore him. Instead channel their ambitions constructively, set them both targets and boundaries and hopefully you will be rewarded like I was today.

Firstly top effort Lumsden.  Be proud of yourself.

Me yesterday. We played on a very damp track. Ball stopped literally as soon as it bounced.
There quickie who is seal quick.  Was still quick with Yorkers and full tosses. But anything pitched turned into slow grenades.

Me got 9 before I was well through a shot to midweek. And the ball cam of the spine to point.
Amusing second game in a row the spine as got me out.

Must play straight!

We had s good team effort. And got to 185 for 8 of 46.

Oppo were tramping along nicely. Then a disputed lbw decison (player was kicking everything he could after arguing with ump) saw a big collapse to 50 for 6.
Some big hitting got them to about a 100 before we bought our leg spin king on.
In the nets. He's unplayable. On a field he turns into Simon Kerrigan at test level.

First 3 balls pitched and turned beatifully nd produced a stumping as the batsmen over stretched.

He then yips came. Double bouncers. Full toss. Even a wide 3 pitches over.
But with lower order batsmen and there eyes lighting up. He got 2 more caught on the boundary.
And in an anti climax of the oppo only playing ten batsmen (someone had left) we took the full points.

We played away after a week full of rain, won the toss and stuck them in.

Some great fielding and bowling saw them dismissed for 100 in the 37th. I took two catches at short extra and short mid wicket.

Then we batted... Turns out it wasn't so easy! Only two of our batsmen got into double figures and we were dismissed for 91 in the 33rd over. Their bowlers really exploited the difficult conditions. Personally I top scored with 34 opening the innings - and I was the last man out in over 33!
