No automatic return for any player regardless of ability you have to wait for someone to drop out which happens more often than not usually the club struggle to find eleven in fact it's only the third time this season that the club has had eleven players at the start of play.

We won easy today.
Bowled them all out for 90 and knocked them off for none in 12 overs.
Had tea after the game had finished and didn't get a bat.
All done by 3.30, a bit disappointing really

I've not played for a few weeks, serious cba.

In the meantime our Thailand returning tight wad has borrowed my kit.
45, 78 and a 72 means I'm still technically scoring runs(or clutching at straws....)

Opposition made 140 odd for 8 which was largely down to putting bat on ball in the last 6 overs - 13-4-31-4 for me. Having been 70 for 2 at drinks we wobbled to knock it off for 8 (although me and the skipper dropped ourselves down to 9&10). Highlight was a 2nd X1 debut for a 13 year old county player - he batted 3 & got 20 odd (he's going to be a super little player). We've 2 13 year old county players with in my club and wish I had either of there's technique!

After putting ourselves into second in the division last week we should have had an easy last 3 games. However, we batted poorly today and we're rolled over for 117. They won with 6 wickets in hand. Very gutted that we have thrown promotion away. are we the only side that beats the 'top' sides and lose to the weak ones?

Back in the runs yesterday (51) before being done by a decent swinging delivery so definitely not too upset by that. We posted 275/3 and got an incomplete win as they finished up on 246/6. Took a decent catch stood up as well so an all round good day!.  :)

Finally picked up my first 5 wicket haul of the season.

Skipper lost the toss so we were put in on an used uncovered wicket (had rained nearly all day on Friday). Throughout our innings the wicket deteriorated but limped to 140-8 off 40 overs which I thought would be good enough if we even bowled half decently. Opposition immediately on the back foot as one of our opening bowlers opted for just short of a good length and the batsman were very uncomfortable. I came on first change with my first 2 overs being rather eventful but somehow wicket-less then drinks. Immediately after drinks I struck and eventually ended with 5 for 32 from an assortment of dismissals including a stumping that hit the keeper's pads then rebounded onto the stumps. Normally I would be overjoyed with a 5 wicket haul but was actually very frustrated because the amount of times I induced false shots and got no reward drove me mad. Left the field feeling I should have had 8 wickets and annoying we didn't bowl the opposition out which meant we only got 5 points instead of the full 6.

Played in the most vile game I've had the displeasure to play in this weekend.  One of our players put the effort in to put the covers on and managed to put them on the wrong way (basically, the hoses are only on one end and if you get it wrong then it can flood over at the blocked end). Anyway, Fridays weather meant it did indeed flood so the wicket was basically wet. They moaned and groaned about it and were put in to bat after losing the toss. Their players batted like it was a flat road and shock horror, kept nicking off and spooning on the up drives to fielders.. of course, blaming the wicket each time. The only thing I can say as someone that batted for 126 balls on it, was that the odd one popped but only as much as 6 inches, no more. I think I had 2 that hit the gloves and that was it, so it was nothing major. Not ideal, but not a minefield, you just needed patience and technique rather than trying to slap every ball.

Anyway, they were all out for 160 and we chased it down but they were the most abusive people I've had the displeasure of playing against. It was fat this, fat that.. you're crap this, you're crap that, blocking, leaving, when are you playing a shot.. only got x shots.. all you do is this or that.... Bowlers walking down the wicket after bowling to give abuse, fielders coming up to you between overs to have a chirp. All this after WEPL have sent out letters to all clubs with new rules abotu behaviuor as it's been so poor this year.. I questioned it to the umpires who seemed to take no notice.

all in all, the team won and I got to have a 126 ball net but it was horrendous. No wonder participation is down if people think it's acceptable on a sports field. I left the field and the day feeling really crap, having not enjoyed the day at all, which really shouldn't be happening in amateur cricket.

Our captain has been giving detailed feedback on every game, about the umpires, oppos behaviour and indeed, he's even put in stuff about us as well so he's not just been biased. However, the league have wrote to him saying that they do not want such detailed feedback and mearly want overall marks for umpires. Of course, you know full well if you mark umpires or teams down all that happens is his name and the club are then targetted by umpires and shock horror, you get less LBW's for and far more against. What's the point of reporting stuff to the league if all that happens is it's used against you.

Seems pointless

Lost by 9 wickets yesterday! We were finished by half 6 and that could've been a lot worse.

We turned up at the oppositions ground, there was a damp wicket with a green tinge to it, and clouds overhead. Out skipper won the toss and decided to have a bat...

We were 47-7 at one stage. We limped to 132 all out in the 45th over. Our tail well and truly wagged, with 20 odd each for numbers 8 and 9, 15 for the number 10 and yours truly 7* (5th highest score of the innings) at the end.

In response they chased the score down in 25 overs, the only wicket falling being when they needed 3 to win. I bowled 3 overs for 11 at the end, by which stage the game was gone so I was only aiming to take a wicket (which I didn't!).

Oh well, comfortably mid table with 2 games to go, no point getting upset by defeats now!

Played yesterday, but least said about it the better for everyone! Skipper my sunday team today, we play a new aggressive form of cricket, we scored 288 in 33 overs all out! and let them tick along to get 230, didn't really try and defend it just knew we had the strength to turn the game on its head f required, had 5 slips for the first 12 overs, and the ball wasn't doing much! average squad age of 18, with the oldest players being 21, and youngest 18. bringing a new mentality of aggression and beers!

The opposition forfeited on Friday night which means our promotion has been guaranteed with one game to spare
