Our league seasons finished, but had a friendly yesterday against a good bunch of lads, hastily rearranged to our ground due to their borrowed ground being double booked
Better for us, as we played on a decent track, instead of astro

Batted first, using my new stick, holy moly! First time I'd used it and to say it goes is an understatement
Missed a slow slow slow one that I probably could have swung twice at, but hey ho, out for 20 oddish

Continued my bowling form,(tongue firmly in cheek), every over I've bowled my google filth, I've taken a wicket

Six a side comp next week, then that's 2015 done

Our season finished this weekend, all ended in a damp squib. Our promotion chance ended when we lost 2 bowlers mid season with broken fingers in the same match. Looks like the best of the wether has arrived just as the season finishes.

Lost yesterday at Stoneleigh with 10 men. Due to having 8 at the start we had to bat first on a damp green wicket that was always going to get better (excuses in early). Myself and fellow forum legend @Maverick79 struggled initially to score, but eventually put on 113 for the first wicket. Chris getting 50 with his new phantom bat and putting one into the cow field. However overs were running out and we ended on 150-3. I carried my bat for 71* despite trying to mow everything for the last 10-15 overs. I was pretty knackered having had to run most of those thanks to slow wet outfield and slow track. This seemed like a good total when the oppo crumbled to 62-5 off 24, but their ringer/new recruit from a top side in the area (Russ Rice from Nuneton?) bashed the runs off as the wicket dried up. Bit disappointed with my 8-3-11-1 as 6 of those came in one shot down the ground :-( . Lovely weather though and I wish we had more than 1 game left this season!

ps. scored 12 in 28 overs the day before (thanks to a collapse that left me with the tail) and 6-1-14-0, so yesterday was a better day in the office!

Won yesterday v Tynemouth 3rds, we batted first on a good looking deck, ended up 212 ao with 1 over to spare leaving them with 46 overs to chase.

We didn't get off to a very good start a mixture of decent batting and bad bowling they got to 80-1 with about 25 overs to spare, they then lost regular wickets while we starved there best bat of the strike leaving him stranded on 79* with myself running out the number 11 batsmen with a direct hit with 2 balls to spare to get the complete win and win the league. Not too bad considering our aim was to not get relegated at the start of the season.

Penultimate game off the season against the league leaders who posted 187 for 8, disappointly we were 148 all out and ended our hopes of promotion - I got 6 and was unduly run out by our skipper.

Did take 3 for 44 bringing up my 50th wicket of the season so on a personal note well chuffed as it's the first time I've broken that milestone in a season (Saturday league).

Lost our last league game of season, but was an irrelevant fixture. Somehow our first team pulled off a miracle and survived n the EAPL, unbelieveable considering last week we were all but down but hey cricket s a funny game

Made a guest appearance for Cawood today.

Nice ground and wicket played well even though it was wet.

Lost badly as Cawood were a little under strength today, I did manage to get a 50 though.

Thanks to @Lumsden for sorting me a game out.

Lovely bit of chocolate cake for tea and it's always nice to get out the house

I was under the distinct impression that today's opposition (who I played for on loan last Saturday) would be conceding this afternoon's game so instead I had lined myself up a match on loan at Cawood (with @RF ) but much my surprise I learnt last night that they actually had a side and would be turning up. After dropping off my autistic friend at Cawood I then drove to my own game in pretty wet conditions thinking I'll be back in a hour as my own team have no covers. When I arrived it was still raining but both skippers were keen to play so groundsman gave the wicket another quick roll and the match started but reduced to 30 overs per side.

We got put in and managed 115-5 which I thought was a good total on a wet wicket. It really should have been under 100 but last 10 overs saw us score 80 as the opposition slightly lost their way in the bowling department. In reply the opposition really struggled against our opening bowlers and had less than 30 off 14 overs. I came on first change and was economical enough plus got a wicket (1-29 off 7 overs) although the only slower ball I bowled was despatched for 6 so didn't try that again !!!  Some late order hitting got the opposition much closer than we had anticipated so 11 was required off the final over but fortunately our most experienced bowler was bowling it (not me as I had bowled out as it was a maximum of 7 overs per bowler). Having everyone on the boundary kept them down to 1s and 2s so 5 was required to win off last ball and then batsman launched an almighty swing but missed and was bowled so cracking end to the game.

Glad @RF had a good game over at Cawood. However I am slightly embarrassed that I invited him to play for Cawood but then didn't play in the same match.

Played the last game of a terrible season yesterday. We were beaten by the league winners. That makes it 24 games 2 wins 22 defeats!! Moved into a higher league at the start of the season and since that point most of the second team has deserted the club. We played yesterday with 2 of the original first team from the start of the season, the rest of us were second teamers. All out for 71 they knocked it off in 14-15 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. On a positive note I hit a lovely 6 and got their pro out who is comfortably the best batsman in the league with around 1500 league and cup runs!

Was our presentation day yesterday.
I forgot to put my name down for the game (over 30s vs under 30s) so got to sit drinking all afternoon. I spent £2 on a can when I arrived and somehow kept having another drink put in my hand continuously for 4 hours. Not that I'm complaining  :D

Season finished yesterday for me. Two weekends ago we got the points we needed for promotion, bowling oppo out for 79 and chasing it 3 down. Didn't bat but got one wicket. Last weekend we played Holyport 2nds who were in danger of going down. We put on a reasonable total, skipper got the runs he needed for the div3 run scoring record in the Chilterns League (730 total), played my usual cameo before taking a 3fer clean bowled as we won, and as it happened Holyport were relegated due to other results. Yesterday played for Firle in a cup semi final, got 7/0/30/1, dropped one steepler in the wind at mid off but then took a harder steepler at long off, then played another cameo of 11 in our chase as we finished 29 short against a side from the ESCL 1st division.

All in all a good season. Sundays as captain we won 4/5, promoted with CSG 2nds and a good mid table finish with Firle. Pity about university cricket where we lost every game we played! Ended with 55 wickets, 40 in competitive cricket (15 on Sunday's, 5 for Sussex Uni, 34 in league games in Chilterns div3 and ESCL div 3 and one in the cup for Firle), though a few missed chances by myself and others and plenty of dubious umpiring, for which one game in particular stands out (vs Gilderidge for Firle where I took 7 wickets, but had several plumb lbw decisions turned down by their out batsmen who were umpiring). With the bat, league cricket for Firle brought me 124 runs at 31 and for CSG 100 at 16.67. Two cup knocks brought me a total of 24 runs, whilst Sunday's got me 190 at 63, which I was really happy with as I aim to lead by example, and my best two innings were against the hardest sides/conditions we played totalling about 100 of my total. Six dropped catches by me total, four off my own bowling, but two run outs and about 10 catches was a decent success rate but definitely needs improvement, especially off my own bowling! Already planning my shopping for next season and looking forward to taking my level 2 coaching badge over the winter and starting winter nets!

Game against a touring side today. I put my name down but there were 15 people available.
I didn't play again and enjoyed the flow of alcohol that a touring side brings! My liver hasn't enjoyed this weekend I don't think

As for the match it was 30 overs a side. One of our openers got 98 (jug avoidance as he was told he was 2 away!) and the skipper retired himself on 55.
Highlight of the day was a 12 year old who in his own words "hates batting" make 31 in an adult game (his highest ever score) and a number 11 from the U15s made 29 batting at 5. Final score 269-4 from 30.

In reply the opposition were 150 something all out. Everyone got a bowl and they were all playing drinking games, so a good laugh but cricket wise it had a very end of season feel to it.

Now to find something to do on a Saturday for the next 8 months...
