I wasn't there but considering you batted first and set the tone with your own umpiring I can only echo the sentiments of my teammate who stated "you reap what you sow".

He's one of the most placid characters I've ever met and he told me today that your team was the worst he's ever encountered for cheating umpiring and poor behaviour on the field. If you umpire first and give a load of poor decisions and dubious wides then incredibly the same is going to happen 2nd dig. No team is going to take the moral high ground in that situation and umpire fairly.

I find your tone arrogant and your only concern is to talk about how well you personally bowled and how you personally feel robbed. I was at the club after the game and would have encouraged you to discuss your game incidents in person with the team who were sat in the same room as your team, rather than chatting in your own group and then moaning on here.

Well if that's that how they feel then so be it no skin off my nose, then for you to call me arrogant on a forum - where I talk about myself, who else am I going to talk about? How can I vent other peoples frustrations. It was made clear at the end of the game there would be no discussion when your captain refused to shake my hand, I find that disgraceful. Despite my dissapiontment which you get in cricket I offered to shake everybody's hand to be refused by a full grown man!

Also, 3 decisions that were out were given by our players umpiring, how do you lot expect to get decisions appealing every ball whether it's blocked, hit for four or skimmed of the pads. More than I can say for your boys. I did not umpire so can not tell if all the 'appeals' were valid as it is a trek from the scorebox to the wicket. See you later in the season, hopefully you bat first and you lot can "reap what you sow".

But also I see you avoided about the edge to the keeper, go and ask the bloke if he hit it, because he didn't look me in the eye for the rest of the day after not walking. @richthekeeper

Had a really fun match despite ending up on the losing side.

As my side didn't have a game today, my autistic friend plus myself joined our league's player pool and both of us quickly got snapped up by a team in the same division that we play in. Anyhow when we turned up, they somehow had now accumulated 12 players but fortunately the opposition only had 10 so I offered to play them instead.

My new team batted first and I top scored with 40 batting at No.7 and was out off the penultimate ball of our innings. I started off really well but I'm afraid the last few overs were painful to watch as I got bogged down when they took the pace off the ball. Still I would have snapped your hand off if you had offered me 40 runs before the start of the match because I've only batted 4x this season of which I've been cleaned up twice by yorkers, given out last Sunday caught behind when I had got nowhere near the ball and I failed to score the 4 runs needed for victory off the last 3 balls of a match. My mate picked up a wicket (not mine or he would have been walking home) and again bowled consistently.

Anyhow our total of 145 (off 40 overs) wasn't defendable but at least it gave our skipper the opportunity to give all the juniors in the side a bowl. I bowled tidily enough with 8 overs for 18 runs but never really looked getting a wicket and disappointingly we only got 1 in the 35 overs it took them to knock it off. A couple of chances went begging but the opposition did actually bat well and took full advantage of anything wayward.

Match played in a great spirit and I think everyone enjoyed the game regardless of what side they ended up on.

Lost for the second time in 2 weeks. Scored 201 in 45. I got 29 before thick edging a cut to point. Disappointed as it was a poor ball and should have been 4. they biffed off the runs in 34 overs. we are not used to that as we consider ourselves more of a bowling side.
at least it was played in good spirits unlike one of the games above. I never understand why some people take it so seriously.
they had a bowler who threw it. it is the second bowler I have seen do this this season. anyone else seen more 'throwers' recently? most of them seem younger players.

Won today, expected a tough game but got a big bomus when the oppo turned up with 9 and half there first team players missing . Got stuck in on an improving wicket and managed 236-7 off 45. Should of been a lot more but we lost wickets at the wrong time. They started off well and at one stage we 150-2, however with 9 men we were never far from the tale and they subsided to 165 ao. Had an OK day 28 with the bat, 3-28 off 9 with the ball.

Dropped back down into the 4th XI, to skipper my first ever game in the absence of our captain. We lost the toss and were put in to bat on a dodgy Heathervale pitch. We made 118 all-out, the highlights being a wonderfully fluent innings of 32 from a 14-year-old who looks one of the most talented youngsters I have ever seen and an U13 making 8 in a 17-run partnership with myself (6*), to get us towards a competitive score on a tricky pitch.

I took the wicket of one of their openers, two balls after having him dropped at slip off a peach of an outswinger. After having bowled 4.5 overs, 1-13, my knee lost all stability and I had to leave the field. Their number 1 and 3 built an excellent partnership, to take them within touching distance of the win before we took a couple of late wickets.

All in all, a disappointing day, but the opposition were top of the league and we were fielding a very weakened team. Sadly, I've woken up this morning unable to put any weight on my leg, and I fear I may not be able to bowl for weeks-months.   :(

Horrendous day yesterday, we played top of the league and they scored 311, I took 1-111 off 15, had one of them days were everything they hit in the air fell in a gap, had there opener dropped twice once on 80+99. We batted and scored 170, I didn't bat so essentially a bad day at office

Although not playing yesterday Learnt last night that the opposition the club were due to play had dropped out  which means my clubs division as just 16 matches to play this season.
Anyway as I wasn't playing decided to inspect my match bat as I had noticed that some of grains on the face were starting to rise up (not a fan of scuff sheets) also the bat looked dry so gave the face a light sand  with the sander using  320 grit paper ( always concerned when Using a sander that I keep the face even) also removed all red marks and gave the face a light coat of raw linseed oil and cleaned the stickers with nail vanish remover. Cleaned the toe and applied water resistant boat vanish.
The bat now  looks like nearly new and the face has a nice silky smooth finish.

Played my second Sunday game this season today.
We got 182 all out and bowled them out for about 120.
Had one of those games when everything went well.
39 not out
4-12 with the ball including a hat trick with my first 3 balls.
Also took an absolute blinder at gully.
Tea was a success too

Evidently wins are like buses and we won in the cup today against a side from Glos....3 wins in 5 days has finished off my week in fine style.

Keeping to Simon Jones and managing to put Matthew Hoggard back over his head for 4 highlights of my week both overshadowed by ydays win still :D
