We won today they scored 158 off the 40 overs I didn't Bowl as I was batting 3 even though I've opened the bowling for the last 3 games.

I then get out to a straight ball the I didn't really concentrate against so ended up with 12 off 3 balls which is double my league average for the season

Got put in on a wet wicket (wasn't covered last night). Ball was popping everywhere for the first 10 overs. Luckily when I got in at no. 4 it had settled down. We hit 240/5 after the captain had an initial target of 151. I hit 53 before holing out to mid on. We bowled them out for 151. I bowled 9 overs which is unheard of, and took 2/36. I was pleased with that. Overall a good day. Only disappointment was after one of my wickets the umpire, in a sarcastic tone, said to the new batsmen "right arm over, dibbly Dobblies". apparently he is captain of Somerset over 50's so I would expect better. Oh well.

Played on what had to be longest grass i've seen on an outfield today. The amount of drives etc i hit perfectly that stopped in the grass was crazy haha. Was bowled for 14 in the end, the cursed grass defeated me today as i'd have easily had 30-40 if it was a normal cut. Bowled for the 1st time in  a match since half way through last season and managed to get 2-20 off 8 along with having their opener dropped once in the cover, once in slip and once at square leg. We ultimately lost by 4 wickets as the other sides opener batted until near enough the end and scored most of the runs. Took a beezer of a catch near the end of the innings aswell which i swore broke my finger at the time haha.  Being bowled out for 84 probably did us no favors in the end!

With another weekend of no 2nd XI cricket at the club I am registered to, I put my name in the Player Pool and ended up with the team I got 40 for a month or so ago. This time they were even weaker, had only 2 other adult cricketers and I ended up top scoring with just 23 not out. Given the situation that I was batting with young kids (U13s), I played quite conservatively and used it as a net as my own club are playing against the same opposition in 2 weeks time. Faced one interesting bowler who I could swear was bowling orthodox leg spin but each ball was actually the wrong'un. Nearly did for me first delivery as I stepped back to slap it through extra cover only for it turn into me but thankfully managed to keep it out. When we came to bowling, I was a bit surprised my services were not called upon but can't complain as the skipper was trying to get all the kids involved.

Really good win yesterday on a very sticky wicket,
We batted first, and got 203,,, I got 29, bowled slogging,(nowt new there)
We bowled them out for 30.

On a side note,,,there youngsters did my head in with the constant chirping,, seems to be getting worse these days?
No thought goes into it, and it's usually repeated every ball?
Annoying,disappointing, and pointless?

hit my first ton of the season yesterday, went in at 23 for one after 16 overs, and scored 117 not out. we scored 247 and bowl them out for 67.  best thing was that in the field the other side of the river there was a small music festival, great batting along to the specials and beat covers. might hire them every week

Played in a very good close game yesterday, we lost thr toss and were put into bat on a slow/green wicket - it was a strange one! Found myself batting 11 again, but made the most of it and went out and valued my wicket scoring 16* before running out of batting partners on 160 after 49.1 overs. St.Fagans then went out to bat had a marvellous left handed batsman who opened and decided he'd take a liking to my bowling in my first spell! Not sure of my figures atm as play cricket data hasnt been inputed, but i'd guess it was around 9-3-30-0. Sadly, I didnt get a wicket but kept it tight at then end as for the last 8.5 overs we limited them to 14 but thats all they needed. Prehaps another 10-15 runs wouldve won us the game.

EDIT - just been updated,

Callum Curtis   10   2   37   0   0   0

Wasn't a bad estimation, also forgot to add I took two catches!

Rained off again today that's the 7th cancelled game of the season for me so far, 6 rain and the other a team pulled out, so far played 5 sat games, 1 Sunday and 3 T20 all year. Been my worst ever season in every way possible. Only got  3 more possible games all season now.
