Bad day Saturday! had oppo 43-3, 1 drop catch and 25 overs later they were 175-3. contained them to 204-7 which was good as they were on course for about 240. Bowled well 7ovs 2-13, captain never considered bowling me again, even when I asked being a reasonable thing to do seeing as i'm his VC and was by far the most economical (and senior) bowler on the day. I got my request to move down the order from 3 to 5 however as have been in a bit of a rut recently. However I still came into face the new ball with us stuttering to 5-3 (I came in 6th Over). 43 with the bat and out to a pie being greedy having already taken 12 from the over. we fell well short 135 a.o.

Lost the toss saturday against atherstone in  a relegation scrap. We were inserted at 1pm. Face Wide wide wide no ball and then get a peach that piches on middle and clips off. It was a good nut. Made even more extravagant by the complete trash I had previously been served. We made 267 -6.they ended 237 - 7. I think officially I was out 1st ball of the match but under mitigating circumstances! !.

I think it was the 1st "legal ball" of the match but you'd have faced 2 deliveries in the book.
I believe that a wide is not counted as a ball faced (as by the fact it's a wide, you cannot hit it), but a no-ball, although not a legal
delivery, does go down as a ball faced as you can hit it and score runs.

Being out off the first legal ball of the match is a Plastic Duck

@WalkingWicket37 thanks for softening the blow.

Can you hate playing at home? I despise batting on it as its slow and low.

Low and slow what's that  our club has  a professional groundsman the wickets quick most opening bowlers have the ball whistling past my nose.

Odd game this weekend. Groundsman kept the track dry-ish but it was still a bit of greentop. The oppo bowled well but we managed to only lose 3 wickets to the bowlers (I'll come on to the other 2 later), eventually ending up on 136-5 off 45. Reds reckoned we were 50 short and I didn't disagree with that conclusion. Bowled the oppo out for 100. Odd thing was, there was plenty of bounce and carry. It was hard apart from a little bit of moisture from the covers to start with. Outfield was slow and long but wicket seem a decent pace. Oppo bowled well, we bowled ok and they were short of batting. Just think it played alot better than the scores suggested. Some games just happen like that. Forum favourites @Maverick79 got 4 (when it was probably at it's most difficult), @19reading87 ground out 19* without a boundary in the last 15 overs and ran out 2 players ;), bowling I took 2-9 off 7.

Either you'd be off a duck with an even number of runs, or you'd be off a duck and stood at the non striker's end ;)

Yes - and if you are out without scoring after an interruption in play due to the weather, then that is a Tupperware Duck.

Sorry, I got it mixed up between yours and the Filipino houseboy's accommodation - how is Ramon by the way?
