Great game today!!

We played the league winners(confirmed last week). We needed to win this and next weekend against second in league to snatch second.

We won the toss and batted first. 32 for 3. As top 3 struggle to make double figures.
But steve and sharp put a hundred partnership on to bring us back in.

I trott out at 6 for a cameo 14 of 8.
Vessey came in at 9 and hits 46 of 20 with some massive sixes.

Add to our number fours 107*(using my red ink) we managed a cracking 259 for 8 of our 46 on a sticky wicket.

They got off to a steady start . And then one opener opened up and a few boundaries flew. 50 up of ten.
2 quick wickets. Meant we thought we'd steamed the flow.
But four just stated to get hold of it.
He fell for a run a ball 76 leaving them 80 of  12.

Wickets kept falling and we and they now needed 50 of five 9 down.
And number ten went 6, 6, 4, 1.
Then two dots.
Next over. Massive 6! Could have been twelve. Arses were twitching

He took a single.

And number 11 moo'd across the line to give us full points!!!

Get in. #greenarmy

Hmmm I hate and love cricket

Played a great t20 last night against the h4l boys, a great bunch with some of the nicest bats I've seen!

But to day was final league game, which we needed to win to win the league.
I was stand in captain, and chose to bat on a green wicket? And instantly regretted it, as I was bowled second ball! C@ck!
Team was bowled out for 44

We came out to field positive and managed to wobble the oppos a bit and get them 5 down before they overhauled our small target.

Not my finest day

Got a text at 10am this morning from our skipper to say opposition has conceded. Initially thought great as that's full 6pts to us and I will play in the pool against a club we're battling promotion with. Unfortunately the team I was offering my services to had conceded their particular game the last night so that cunning plan fell at the first hurdle.

Anyhow did have some alternatives so opted to play for a team who proceeded to skittle out the opposition for just 52 then knocked that off in under 10 overs. Laughably I only touched the ball once in the entire game which was to pick-up it up after it dribbled in my direction after deflecting off the keeper's pads.

Really tight win today, restricted them to 178 after a very village display us splilling 12 catches (yes this really happened, ask @simonmay5 for confirmation) in the field. But chased it down with 2 overs to spare for 9 wickets. A relief after that many drops and a small collapse of the middle order, puts us 5th in the league with one game to go

I must say turned up to watch the team I will be joining next season and saw 12 catches go down but was nice to see some of my new team mates and looking forward to being part of a really well run club next season

I don't think I comment on that but like I say I don't want to take the gloves away from the guy who does it as that would not be fair and by the look of some of the drops you might need me in the field .really looking forward to join you guys and your keeper might be happy to give me the gloves after tom has stung his hand standing 18 paces back

His action is very skiddy also which doesn't help picking up the length quickly and makes it a bit more slippery to bat against

dissappointed with my personal performance with the bat as i made a lot of effort in the close season and it doesnt seem to have paid off
