There is an easy way to tell.

Stand on your front leg and lift your back leg off the ground then lean forward and put your top hand behind your head and your bottom hand out by your side and then do the same with your bottom hand and then tell me which way you over balance while doing it.

But i dont think i am over balancing when i dont both the actions- i can balance pretty well when i am doing both the things that you said

If you are good hitting through the off side off the front foot, especially through the drive then you are a good top handed player.

If you hit the ball more towards the leg side the your bottom hand is taking over.

Or you have a natural advantage like I do I'm left handed but bat right handed so my top hand always takes over as it the most powerful

Bottom handed players always have their grips sliding halfway up the handle. Top handed players never need to realign their grips.

If you bat like me and grip the bat tight with your bottom hand and  give the ball a wack to the legside you are a bottom Hand player.
