Have nz turned to spin ti slow us down? Or merely switch Boult's ends?

Either way decent start for the English.  Can we maintain?

It's a good start, feeling positive about this series. Performances will be more important than results

About time England played on decent ODI pitches at home. For far too long green tops or slow decks have been prepared for odi's.
Get playing on more flat tracks like the rest of the world.

Morgan falls. But

Roooooooooooooooooooot

Ton up for the Yorkshire man in 71 balls.

Can anyone remember when he'd just be moved down and down the order as flower didn't rate his attacking ability?

I'd back him to break all the run scoring records before he's done - imagine if he keeps this up for another 10 years!

Despite being 5 down with 22 left. I hope england don't get hung up on the wicket count.

I.e play a more conservative line up next game. Or return to drilling in the not get out part.

It's a learning curve for us. And we have just started that curve! Good things to come from this side

Nah, get to 240 as soon as possible. At least then you have something to bowl at and if you still have wickets in hand then you can go crazy.

It used to be get to 240 in 50 overs, I'd rather see us getting bowled out for 240 in 35/40 overs than watching Jonathan Trott eek out 70* off 110.

As exciting as this has been to watch, it highlights the need of accumulative batsmen in the middle alongside the biffers. This is why the omission of Taylor is bizarre. He wouldv slotted in beautifully!! The best aussie teams always had a Clarke/Hussey/Martyn who will still score at a run a ball plus, but are willing to stick around and be the innings glue. England are defo getting there, and with tweaks can create a v decent team

Got to love nick knight... not.

"6 an over from here gets us 350"

surely even 6 down we got to be looking at ten an over? Be positive man!!
