Left or right
« on: June 26, 2015, 12:54:15 PM »

Quick daft question, on my pads I have noticed one top hat twists more than the other. It's a slight different angle. Is this for the front leg or back leg?

Mind has gone blank

Any overhand from the straps go to the outside of the leg  ;)

Buckles on the outside. Straps should never overhang the side of the pads.

Exactly. Or you can try running and the straps stick to each other...

It's a preference, when I see straps to the outside it does annoy the crap out of me though.

I have always just assumed thats the correct way. I have GN Legends so I googled Ali Cook and came up with this:

Lord Strauss:

Buckles on the outside. I've been doing it wrong all my life!

It's not wrong as such, I was just always taught to have nothing flapping around on the outside of your pads. I find it neater and tidier and suits me more. It's wrong to say one way is right and one wrong.

Why do pads come in right handed and left handed versions then?

at a guess - if you have 'overhang' outside the pad, there is potential for a ball to clip it and the umpire may think you got a nick??

I think I have buckles on the outside (without going and checking I actually can't remember!), but I see the thought of the straps catching.  I never have that problem on my pads though as the straps are perfect length for my legs diameter!

Well I'm a scruffy beggar and always have them on the outside!
Any overhang gets folded over and there's no danger of your pads sticking together then.

It's not wrong but having the straps on the inside isn't right  ;)
