Imran said he got Ian Bell ones too, but his were bigger than small men's, whereas the ones I have are definitely smaller (good for me as I have smallish hands), so a bit here and there. All that matters is that the gloves are quality

Agreed. Mine are a bit larger than mens, but undeniably great quality

Thanks for all the input guys.

Since my post, i've picked up a couple of pairs of the SS Limited Edition Gloves.

I still find it quite interesting that Kooka make gloves for players, that they don't release to the rest of the market.

Phoenix, i generally prefer the tighter fit as i don't use inners.
I've only used them in the one net session so far. We had an 'Arctic Vortex' here in Australia last week.... (Ok so that still meant maximums of 15 degrees which isn't cold in actual terms, but it was cold for us ok lol). I wasn't sweating up much of a storm.

Jos Buttler uses split finger gloves with the Verve 1000 design.  Ian Bell uses the sauage Verve 1000 gloves with Kahuna branding

Kooka do a glove for their sponsored pro's, same as pads, all same specs just the different colour schemes. They have never been readily available to the public. Sausage is quite unpopular in the market but most brands well always offer 1 option. Apart from the colour the Warner gloves are a really nice sausage glove.

It bemuses me as to why Kook supply their sponsored players with gear different to their product range. To me, thats admitting that your retail product is not up to standard. Plenty of other brands have product good enough for the pros to play with at the highest level.

Yet another reason to stay away from Kookaburra.

Or they create bespoke wear for their pro's and the top of the range is just as good for us "mortals". I'd say the protection is more than adequate and I use their 800 range.

They provide gear to all levels of cricket, which is better than just having their sponsored gear at expensive prices.

To be honest, the top range kit will most likely be as protective as the pros stuff but the pros might want a specific shape?  Another tweet to Ian Bell maybe?

I think its more the pro picks what's style shape weight of softs they want and the brand puts the colours of the range they want them to advertise as very few of the bats are the same shape as the range they advertise so same for softs

Those colours are the Plasmas. They're also sausage fingers, and the hand padding doesn't look like the shape of the Patriot top range.

A sausage fingered Plasma doesn't exist in their 2015 range - maybe these are recoloured Xenons from last season?

Absolutely that - the pros get given their range for the season and based on their personal preferences the gloves will be made to match.  Just a case of using the different materials and colours and applying them to the pro's preferred design.  Split fingers into sausage (Bell Kahuna and Carberry Cadejo) and sausage into split finger (Buttler Verve).

I just keep checking Lorimers on ebay...

Doesn't make good marketing sense from Kooka i have to say.

When you have big name pros using your product, little Johnny in his mid to late teens wants what the pros use. How pi$$ed is he that he can't have the same gloves as Ian Bell his hero....
Ah well, he can buy the same gloves that Cook uses, hello Gray Nic! Easiest sale GN have ever made!
