Michael Bevan in Test cricket. A FC average of nearly 60. Perhaps the greatest ODI batsman of all time. But in Test cricket he just couldn't play short pitched bowling. A man of his talent never scored a Test 100.

I'd love to see what he could have done at T20 in his pomp.

Suresh Raina at test level, especially after his ton on debut.

I always thought highly of Ramps and Hick but both never did a lot at test level,
From an Aussie point of view I think Symonds should have done more

Morne Morkel hasn't really lived up to his true potential. 6ft 6-7" bowls 150kph+ but has rarely been able to get out of Steyn's shadow.

I guess one could argue that Hanse Cronje didn't live up to expectations  :D

Did anyone have high expectations for him?

His style of cricket means the most you can expect is 1 great innings out of ten.

Which means he pretty much lives up to expectation.

The most pointless shot I've ever witnessed, you'd never play it in a test match and the only delivery you could play it to would be called wide in any other cricket and to top it off it would be miles easier and miles more effective to just pull it!!
