I can't believe he uses 2 lb 14oz ... on such fast pitches. My guess is its 2 lb 10 or lighter, and that the "replica" bats for sale are much heavier because such light weight clefts are few and far between.

The commentators were saying before his bat is only just under 3lb. Whether or not they just guessed that I'm not sure. Warner is just tapping them for four. The middle on that thing is ridiculous

The one in his hands currently reminds me off my now sold hell 4 leather tempo.

Shame @hell4leather cricket have stopped making it after one of the worlds best opener starts using that profile. And to good effect!!

Bring back the tempo!!

@smiley792 Maybe Matt made him one when they were both at Kent for the warm up game and he just has put his stickers on it?

The weight may be "under 3lb" but the bat may also pick up a lot lighter. I use heavy bats but they don't feel heavy. Plus, these international players are in exceptional physical shape.

Just a theory, and do correct me if I'm way off the the mark. After seeing Warner's dismissal, I  have a theory regarding the change in his bat profile. The lack of significant wood behind the edges of the bat could be because he want to reduce the chances of the those edges carrying because of the WACA pitch.

Just looking at the profile on sky and its got a higher middle than a tempo. I loved my old style tempo but the middle position made it a little bottom heavy at times and it would be the only thing I would of changed on the profile. Maybe Matt will bring back a Warner edition of the Tempo. It would be some bat!

You're right. sort of does look like a tempo monster profile but with a higher middle.

He used the same bat as last match, he's got the normal huge edge ones, and these other tiny edge massive spine ones. His edge this morning carried pretty well

He was interviewed during the ashes and said he uses 2lb 11oz. Said he thought they were 2lb 9.75oz though so I guess a lighter pickup.
