@mini998 that's only a problem if you have chicken legs. Get in the gym!

First two years buckle outside, last  three buckle inside. Does it make a blind bit of difference?? Nope

Actually don't have chicken legs, my first pair of pads were cheap SD Slaz which had extra long straps, current pair won't make a difference what way I wear them but the habit stayed on.

Reason I wear them on outside is because it's the way my teams pro wore them when I first started playing. And he played test cricket.

First pad I pick up goes on whichever leg I subconsciously put forward and the second pad goes on the other leg! I've got fat legs so I don't have strap overhang for those worried about strap hanging on the outside!

I always thought the "wings" of the pad (batting not lady!) faced the batsman and that's how I wear my pads

My point being was our pads are made with the buckles on the outside if you wear them with the buckles on the inside you are wearing them on the wrong leg. But to a large percentage that does not seem to matter!! So if we produced ambidextrous pads the problem would be solved, wear them how you like.

Personally I look out for pads which are designed for the different requirements of the back and front legs, although I am clearly in a minority.

I got really confused when buying a pair of RH pads for the the first time and was wondering which pad goes on which leg, as if one pad was different from the other. Then I just Googled how Steve Smith wears them and it's buckles on the inside

But Steve Smith is dumb and wears them the wrong way round. Anyways, everyone knows he'll never make a test cricketer

What's the difference between the front leg and back leg then that makes it so apparent many are apparently wearing them wrong?

Pics and explanation from the manufacturers mouth would help.

I never took much notice whether the buckles were inside or outside until being given out caught behind after my bat clipped against a buckle (with the buckle outside on this particular occasion) when playing inside the line of a delivery.
