I'd like to compare batting averages with any of those suggesting the loop anywhere but the outside, cause they all sound like bowlers.

Buckles on the outside for me as that is the way my pads are designed as the front leg has extra protection.

Now keeping pads I've always done the same but now tempted to swap so the Velcro doesn't catch (which isn't a problem on my batting pads)

Buckles on outside......but i was tempted to say ' with the top hat facing upwards'  ;) :D

Okay, this is going to be difficult for me, but there is something I have to get off my chest...

My name is Cameron, and I'm a recovering bowler!

It's been a couple of months now that I've been living in shame, so I have no choice other than to come clean.

After being adamant that pads were to be worn with the buckles on the inside, and being rather vocal about it, I have been showed the error of my ways.

Thanks to @Buzz's coaching and guidance, I now wear my pads the proper way, that batsman's way, with the buckles on the outside.

I feel I should apologise to everyone for trying to convince others that the incorrect way was best.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, just for people to understand that I know I was in the wrong, and to know I will not be preaching the ways of the bowler any more!

The first part of becoming a batsman is to look like one . So you start by hanging out on this forum and then buying a shed load of top notch gear . Then you wear it correctly.  Ive been informed that mountains of runs soon follow .

Never mind Buzz and Cam and their incorrect batting pad ways... seems Mark Stoneman wears his thigh pads the wrong way round! This explains his long wait for an England call-up, clearly.
