Is this limited to UK?

@bostoncricketer no I'm happy to extend it globally but you would need to cover any additional postage costs 👍

Drop me a PM if your interested along with delivery address and I'll get a quote Inc shipping.

Cheers

Just a quick note to say there are still a few spots open on this as a few members who showed initial interest have subsequently pulled out for various reasons.

Those that have already signed up and got their trial helmet maybe able to shed some light on what they received :)

Drop me a line if your interested.

My helmet has arrived.

It looks like an Ayrtek. Can't really tell the difference. But as I was asked to test vision I put it on.

Grill gap seems smaller, grill more apparent. But am a being paranoid.

Put it next to my current Ayrtek.

Grill sits further out(is longer in effect. So it's level with the peak, and sits about 10mm closer to peak.

Grill also hangs lower to give more chin coverage(probably to gain he loss off coverage as grill is moved closer to peak.

Fit is identical to current Ayrtek, very comfy, swapped to the more padded inserts for best fit.
More Velcro in this so pads don't move! Big improvement.

In the hand the steel grill makes it feel heavier over my titanium one. By on the weight difference is negligible.

Pics to follow.

Net coming up sat so will comment on if it effects my game in the net. May try and film it to.

Pictures. They speak a thousand words.

Big disappointment! And Adidas bag...... But if that's the big disappointment then it's all good yeah?

Side by sides. Trial in black, my current aditek burgundy.

To emphasise the grill differences I added a piece of paper at the centre line

And my spare old steel grill level with the new grill to show changes

Thanks Chris, useful for people to see the adjustments regarding the grille against an "older" model and how to further improve the penetration resistance we have amended the grille alignment with the peak and moved it further away from the face. Aesthetically the grille may appear to be the only changes but we have been working hard with the R&D on the shell materials as well to ensure they are also offering increased impact protection.

Apologies about the bag, we havent yet got the Ayrtek branded version with us, If any trialists didn't receive a storage bag please drop me a line and ill get one sent out!

Loving the newer grill position, looks like it will do favours for my larger than normal head!

Will the newer grills fit older helmets?

@kenbriooo yes that's part of the design aspect, existing Ayrtek/adidas owners would be able to retro fit the new grille to their helmet however it wouldn't make it officially 2013 compliant.

Will the grill stay removable on production versions? A little confused on this with the new standard, pretty much all manufacturers seem to have made them non-removable, but GMs lid does pass?

Correct as with the GM that has passed.

It doesn't have to be fixed in the sense it cannot be removed or replaced from the helmet, only "fixed" as in the point that the distance between peak and grille cannot be changed.

The samples provided to Trialists will be very close to what the final version is likely to look like bar some minor adjustments through the feedback being provided. 👍

I am not generally a wearer of helmets as I tend to find them uncomfortable but I'm so tempted to sign up for this trial to see if Ayrtek could change my mind haha!
