So can we get some some on how it happened?

Were you trying to smash everything to the boundary, or was it a Carberry esque defensive shot causing the bat to break? In my mind it was the latter...

 Thats really sad.
Sometimes a bad quality ball can break a bat but not like that.

I am sure SS would replace this one. It looks like storm damage as batbuddy99 pointed out ... However i can understand how you must have felt when it happened. Had the same thing happen to my Kook bat. Horrible feeling ...

Do bat makers give guarantee on bats...I have only heard that they give handle guarantee. Would like to know if they do.

Normally yes  but it depends on what the damage is and how  the damage was caused.

2 consecutive cover drives, got one again in the slot, mistimed off drive and i check the bottom looked fine, when eyes went a little down saw this. Heart sank, got out the next ball.... :(

Heartbreaking indeed! I was in contact with a retailer recently, who said that SS don't replace storm damaged bats, as they deem it as an act of God as opposed to a manufacturing defect... Not 100% sure if this is the case, but please let us know what the outcome of your bat is!

I'm not surprised you got out next ball, hard to bat with half a bat!
