103* today which was nice after yesterday's bad luck. Hit 310 and they got 210 in reply but they were weak and happy overall as we got them all a free beer

Didn't play today but got tonked by Spencer CC by 78 runs, they scored 230 after being 116-2 after 24. New kid bowled two expensive overs for 30 and the tonking continued. Openers started off well enough, but soon enough just collapsed for 152.

Good team I guess, figured their side for the most part is made up players in their 1s/2s

I hated cricket for several hours today until watching my club 1s chase well.
Longest away trip in our division to the best in the league and we only had nine men. Skittled for 41 in just over 20 overs. 4 ducks. Got my second of the season, this one an improvement as I lasted until my second ball. Textbook back foot defensive apart from apparently a too angled bat, absolutely nailed it back onto my off stump. Oppo chased before tea in 5.3 overs so an hours drive each way, a duck and didn't bowl.
Worst thing is I feel like a score is coming, its just actually getting the score that is the problem!

You play for Chalfont St Giles? Guessing you might be as their score against Harpsden ties in with what you say plus it would be their furthest trip!

2 from 2 in league. Lost toss and inserted on a road. Opened up and scored 118 before top edging a pull to deep square. Scored 250 odd in total. Rolled them over for 130 odd with 6 overs to spare.

Dropped down to the 2s as a senior player to stand I'm for their absent captain, we posted 226-9 off 50, then bowled them out for 120 for the full points. I also got a 5for!!

Played my first game on a proper wicket today (our home ground is an astro)

Batted first and made 133 all out. Our openers were very slow (80 off 25) meaning i had to come in at 6 with a few overs to go. Was told to start swinging which really isn't my natural game , made 8 before missing a straight one.

They chased it in 27 overs 4 down. I bowled 8 overs for 18 runs and 1 wicket (my first in cricket) Also managed to bowl a proper bouncer which was unexpected!

Good knock @Buzz no details of 4's, 6's or balls though to delve deeper into it?
Thanks Bruce and Tom
Not sure, the first 60 was at about a run a ball the rest was in about 6 overs. One poor bowler went for 60 in three overs. :O

I didn't do much running!
I probably shouldn't have been playing for the 3s but that is all family commitments allowed

Spot on, are you in the Chilterns League as well?

Watched an U15s game yesterday. 250 played 215 but there were 6 6s over 65m. Even the kids are whacking it miles nowadays.

We had our clubs first ever league game on Saturday. We lost the toss and were inserted and found ourselves 20-3 after about ten, including a 5th ball duck for me after I snicked off to one which moved down the slope.

Fortunately our 3 and 5 put on about 230 between them and we ended up on 277-8. In reply we bowled out the oppo for about 140 so a big win. I believe we had the third highest score across the whole Herts League which will hopefully send our message to the league administrators that we need to be bumped up a few levels.

First game on Saturday, won the toss and batted at home, lovely deck, ball coming on nicely. Made 90 before holing out in the slog overs. We made 246 from 45 overs. Oppo chased it in 32 overs, but were 9 down, made it a decent game considering we were a bowler short and only managed to get 10 on the park. Managed to get a 5-fer myself charging (trundling) up the rather sizeable hill at our ground, which was pretty sweet.

A combination of a good run around that day, plus the fact that I've been in Aus for a month, not doing a great deal of exercise, means that I'm a broken man at the moment. Trying to stay on my wheely chair at work today and not have to get up. Currently I'm working out how I can go out and get lunch without standing up.....
