They are also not the same bat.
never are, that's a marketing game that many play. Not sure in the UK but in Aus often store will have exclusive lines, oh and guarantee if you find the exact same bat for cheaper we will beat it.

Players' Quality Specially Selected Grade 1+ English Willow.  English
Players Grade 1 English Willow  Aussie

So if you where to also fall for another marketing trick the English version must be so much better because it's specially selected.
Here let me cut through the marketing bull for you
Both are top of the range, grade 1 Indian made bats.

Two is more than one and less than three, so you were halfway there!  ;)

Quite.

We've got a similar set up regarding exclusives. Though the only retailer I know that does it is PDC, because they are more of a "Pile em high, sell em cheap" Warehouse. They had a Kook "Torre" last year, can't imagine it sold well, looked god awful and is now heavily discounted.

Sports Direct have some exclusives too.

@petehosk had a lovely Sports Direct exclusive GM Apex, it has a fake grain sheet and was totally override in pain on the edges and back, and despite being a 1 star said Pro on the sticker. I can therefore conclude Sports Direct sell GM "Pro bats" for £35  ;)

Ah yes. Forgot about SD.

Must admit, it's not somewhere I think to look when on the hunt for bargain bats. But especially after they did that Flash Sale a few months back, sounds like some people got great value.

On the subject of competition. Would be interested to hear the opinion of the sponsors/smaller retailers on the big boys.

correct
so perhaps it's IJC's currency converter on thier page a bit off? When  switch the Aus dollars on it's 640, it appears to be live as it went up by $2 overnight.
Still glad you're not my accountant. Exchange rates play a big part, as Vitas said not the same bat, compare average wages in both countries as well. There are many things that go into what ends up the retail price of things but you are clearly clueless if you think retailers make huge amounts on top end bats.

Even had some free paint under the fake grain sheet, it's gotta be pro willow though, it says so on the stickers

I can only explain, I can't make you intelligent enough to understand. Enjoy the bat that you saved $300 on that's not available in Australia.

Something tells me the IJC 'post-brexit 20% off' sales patter may have had a part to play in this...

I wonder what sort of mark up is put on brand new stock that can be discounted by 20% in the pre season?

According to most people I have spoken to, roughly three fifths of sod all...
If that's the case, I wonder why you'd do it? ???

Pretty much all the main retailers run at around 15/20% off RRP - not quite sure what you're getting at?
