after so proper poor Saturday form with the bat (0,3,4) finally a bit of form 108 not out.

Quality knock by the sounds of it!!
Unbeaten 108? One day hopefully  ;)

Fantastic win today.
Batted first and posted 147 all out after being 40-3 mainly thanks to a quality 93 by our number 5, still felt we were 20-30 short though
Bowling after 15 overs they were 70-2 and we were staring down the barrel a couple of wickets and a great catch get us back in to the game and some real tight bowling put the pressure right back on them. Our 1st change bowlers both bowled exceptionally and took 4 and 3 wicket hauls respectively before @simonmay5 took two wickets at the end to finish the game bowling then out for just over 100

I hate batting! Run out for a golden duck today >:(

We made 214-8
Opposition ended 189-9
I made up for my crap day with the bat by taking 3-38 off 10

Forgot to do last week, so here goes. Played both days and it showed the best and worst of friendly cricket. Saturday we played @Ciaran bunch in a friendly as our league game was called off. We had a steady innings and got 158-5 in 40 and Ivanhoe managed 120 ao. Great thing was the game was played in good spirit and our youngsters got valuable time with bat and ball, the result wasn't important. I didn't bat or bowl and it was a pleasure to see the youngsters perform.

Sunday couldn't be more different, play a team called Luton Caribbean who took pleasure in smacking a team including 7 colts all over the place. Bit unfair when your young opening bowler sticks one on a length only to be driven out of the ground. Don't mind colts get hit around if they bowl bad balls but when you are trying to encourage colts to play cricket you could do with some common sense from the oppo. On one occasion I told the batsman "does it make you feel big smacking kids around". I've played with many overseas players who wouldn't dream of doing the things they were doing, anyway they scored 237-5 in 35 overs and then bowled us out for 76. Bowled 7-0-25-0 and was feeling good with the bat until I chopped on a googly for 15. Played a couple of cover drives that I haven't played in years, so maybe I'm coming into some decent form. Needless to say we cancelled the return fixture this week and found a lower standard oppo!

1s missing 5 yesterday so I had to step up to 1s.  Before game strong possibility of bowling my 10 but guys bowled well and I just got the two overs for 7 runs. Chasing less than 160 we just never got going. I was brutal 9 off 50 balls opening batting including a four off a free hit! We ended up 20 odd short. 2s 3s and 4s all won and we missing 10 plus regulars as a club so overall a good weekend. Fair to say I will be back where I belong next Saturday. Gulf between 1s and 2s huge.

We were asked to bat (still hard to believe) and made 340-2 in 40 overs
Then bowled them out for 40
Good news is I got a few runs. Bad news broken bat.

Good work fella. Bet you're a bit stiff this morning. Do they still do an excellent tea?

@uknsaunders

Do they still play at the public park overlooking Marsh Farm Estate? We played their once and had to stop play as a moped parked on the outfield, then the guy sat next to it and started eating a picnic!!

Do they also have a really good left handed that likes to cover drive everything and makes a sound whenever he hits the ball? Used to look forward to him going 'whoosh, bomb, crack' whenever he timed something!

I hate batting too!!! I was rubbish, dropped twice and almost run out , before top edging the worst bowler I have ever faced.
only highlight of the day was watching @Northern monkey smash 24 of one over.

Asked to bat by the top of the league and made 227. One of those scores that could have been less and could have been more. We were 80-4 after 13 overs. Then myself and another lad pit on 80 odd before 30 overs, both of us were out quickly together and we made up to the 227. Had myself and my partner got out cheap we could have been looking at less that 150, but had we stayed in 250+ could have been a possible. Certainly felt like I missed out despite a decent knock.
Anyways they fell 50 odd short to move us above them to the top of the table.

Lovely teas. And a unique set up too (static caravan & a wooden dressing room)

I was a bit knackered so just a cuppa, berrocca & a crafty fag for me

We rolled over our oppo today.

Scored 234, looking like we were gonna post 300 we were 120 odd for 2, i had orders to up the ru. Rate and was reasonably pleased with 49 off 29 balls. Sadly our sloggers came in after and we lost 3 wickets in 4 balls and which was the only negative of the day. We then bowled the for 70. Sometimes its nice to destroy the oppo.

Pleased with an average of 49 so far this season. Still frustrated i haven't gone big yet. Must be fitness
