So saturdays game is off, oppo can't field a side ( or more likely as they are rock bottom don't want to make the away journey to us after getting smashed earlier this season) anyway at least got until Aug before losing a game just a personal shame as currently top run scorer in our league but won't get the chance to increase that lead. Always been up there but never managed top spot mainly due to only playing every other week and this would have been only chance this season for back

I hate cricket!!

Skipper lost the toss, and we were inserted.
97 all out in 25 overs

I was out for a duck off what I (and several people watching from square of the wicket) thought was a bump ball but it was given.
Oh well, umpires decision and all...

We lost by 10 wickets, the oppo knocking the runs off in 23 overs.

Why do I even play this game :(

Another win today but poor performance with the ball and in the field from us. We scored 180 in 30 overs I top scored with 53 using my 2 lb 5 oz harrow. Deck was very slow and low and I wasn't sure what was a good score. We got two quick wickets and then went to sleep for 15 overs as they looked to be suddenly cruising. Despite suffering with shoulder problem I brought myself on and broke big the partnership. We picked up wickets regularly after that to win by 35 runs. It's the big cup final next week if we play like that again we will be tanked!

Bit frustrating today. We got them all out for 136 in 36 overs with an interlude for a massive rain shower with thunder and a little lighting. Their number 10 and 11 had the highest partnership of 36.

I got a 'michelle' ending with figures of 5 for 41 off 13

Our batting started slowly and then wickets started tumbling. I went in at 10 with 52 on the board. Managed to help push things to over 70 - took two 4s and a 6 off their spinner in one over - but we lost the final 2 wickets before I could have another go at him.

So good day for me but bad for the team. We did find out later that their bowler who took 6 wickets (and got runs as number 10) usually plays for their 1s two divs above us, so not exactly fair, but we should have batted better.

First Saturday game in 6weeks for me and it was the cup semi final.

We won toss and inserted them something we rarely do.

They ended up all out for 151. Nothing remarkable.

I opened, and got us off to the good start we wanted. 36 of 21 before being caught on the point boundary.
We was on 44 of 5 and well above the rate.

Ended up knocking them off only 4 down with 12 overs still left.

Finals day here we come!

Should add that I bowled a beauty of an inswinger to a left handed today that clipped his off stump about 4 inches down from the bails but didn't dislodge them, despite deviating noticeable after hitting the stump 😳

Keeper couldn't believe it and even checked the bails would come off before the next ball.

Another win today
Had to skipper , won the toss and put the oppos in, we bowled em out for 31??
We got a couple of slightly iffy decisions our way and bowled very well
Changed the batting order a bit to give some of our lower order a bat.
We knocked em off for a couple of wickets

Oooo knocked up 294-6 in their 45 and we finished 250 odd - 7 after our 45. Fielded terribly gave away 43 extras so only ourselves to blame.
Now it's a third team league so there's no fielding restrictions or anything but from the start their captain had 5 men on the boundary, 4 of which were on the leg side and by the time we got into the final 15 the 9 men that could be on the boundary were. I don't know what people's opinions on this is but for me it kind of ruined the game because it just made scoring any boundaries practically impossible unless you were going to take a risk and go over someone's head.

Got my first league run in a month! Solid 1* off two before a declaration on 251/7 off 48. Skipper got a quality 105. Took the old ball, several drops early on but after about 15 overs the oppo dropped anchor, including one guy who only hit one ball off the square in about 20 overs. Got 3/37 off 15 but not sure about maidens. C&b their skipper with one of my colts doing his best to put me off as it was nailed back between us, he dived in front of me so I saw it late and had to dive. Got their opener caught on the cow boundary off a googly (full toss) and the other wicket was caught at mid on with an agricultural heave. They ended up 95/8 from 46, we should have won. Irony that the oppo are leaving our league to play a higher level - if they play like that in the Thames Valley League and it's supposed higher level they will be slaughtered.

Not every game of cricket is the same. A good team should find a way to win. With everyone out there must have been plenty of 2s on offer for instance.

Great win yesterday,
Playing second in the league and we were third bottom, we won the toss and chose to bowl first, after 20 overs they were 100-1 and on for a big score, managed to restrict them and bowl them out for 146 after they collapsed, both our skipper and spinner taking a 5fer each.
Our openers then put on 100 for the first wicket with one opener getting 73 which had practically put the oppo out the game. I came in three and got 16* hitting a 6 to win the game, ended up chasing it down for 3 wickets with 10 overs left.
This win should hopefully now put us safe 24 points clear of relegation and now mid table with weather meaning a lot of games were called off giving each time a straight 10 points each has also helped.

Another very frustrating day yesterday which I think has ended our title chances.

Another complete s**thouse game of cricket. I just don't get some sides/people's ambitions for their Saturdays. I mean they obviously pay a match fee, have travelled and give up their time to play etc... anyway the game went like this...

Game got reduced to 40 overs cos of early rain. We lost the toss got put in. I got 35 then got a leading edge to short cover. We made 186 in the end.

So then we take 2 early wickets and they just didn't go for it. From 32 overs left they blocked it!! They finished on 137-8 And we won by 49 runs. There number 4 got 31* off 32 overs!

The side we played are middle of the table, not going to go down and not going to win it. Just a complete waste of time.

Second loss of the season for us. A wet wicket saw them post a very healthy 196/7. We got to a about 160 all out. I got 11. Caught at cover having top edged a wide half tracker. Very frustrating getting out to a bad delivery.
