Really can't see him not being locked up for this.

I'm pretty sure I've seen two videos? But in both, it looks pretty awful.

A sad day for world cricket, arguably- a man with the world at his feet.

Yet he only has himself to blame.

Had a look at the sentencing guidelines for ABH, likely he'll just get a community order unless the bloke he punched was 'seriously' injured.
Whatever happens, be interesting to see how cricket takes this in comparison to other walks of life. Beating someone up on a night out didn't stop Steven Gerrard becoming England captain, for example.

He took out 3 scrawny guys...threw 15 punches in a minutes. With a fitness level that generates his kind of bat speed, that level of boxing/punching prowess is expected. I love Benji but that was effing idiotic! He is a match winning international/test level cricketer, a champ in the making, and in a dark, empty street, he is fighting nobodies. The lad needs psychiatric help! What the F***!!!!!!

What's ABH? Assault with bodily harm?

Close enough, actual bodily harm.

In the video, there is a tall guy trying to stop Stokes, is that Hales? There are two other guys who are standing by and watching the scrap.

Does look like Hales, but given that earlier in the video he's giving someone's head a kicking, I hope it isn't!

Hard to really see properly, but 'Stokes' in the video doesn't seem to have as many tattoos as you'd expect... *clutches at straws*

He is probably Hales, has a bit of a whiny quality on the street like he does on the cricket field. :D :D :D

I think it is Stokes. He was moving like an MMA fighter. He is a street fighting fit lad! :D

Right, so who do we think will be called up to replace Stokes?

Won't get near jail-time (his pockets are deep enough) but no doubt they'll be an ECB suspension - can't see how they could possibly justify taking him this winter after that video

Oh dear! That video does look pretty bad for mr stokes. Can’t see him escaping a ban. Just depends when the board decides to enforce that ban.

Pathetic stuff from stokes. Bet Marlon Samules is sat somewhere with his pads on and feet up laughing his head off. Then again a few of the aussies will be doing the same after watching that

What is it with pissed-up Rambo's wanting drunken violence?

If I've had a skinfull, all I want to do is hug everyone (especially a pretty lady), eat something Turkish and go to sleep.

If that that is Hales in the video, he doesn't seem to step in manfully and drag Stokes away - he actually looks rather ineffectual.

Not condoning Stokes's actions at all but it does appear that these lads have been threatening him and Hales with a bottle (in fact it looks like Hales is pretty close to receiving a bottle to the back of the head at one point), that's a pretty serious threat in my book.
