"My name is Matt and I have a glove problem. I only have one pair."

There. It felt good to say it.

I tend to look after my gloves and so they last a few seasons. Either that, or I'm just not batting long enough...

They're a fine pair of Puma Platinum 5000s, soon to start their 3rd or 4th season. I like everything about them. Black and red generally being my colour scheme too  :D

Have a matched pair of pads, and I must say, Puma softs are the shiznit.

4 game pairs, new each season. Currently various rob Pack ones

Then I have about 8 pairs of Online Stockist gloves for nets as they last well and I don’t mind going through a fair few pairs each winter as unlike branded, they are good value. Took a few on the gloves this winter in the nets at high speed and the OLS gloves are as good as anything you’d pay top wack for

Two pairs a year. One for practice, one for games.

I think I might stick some on eBay soon.  I tend to get new gloves every season, but I'm going to try and use older gloves for nets! Becoming less fussy about matching kit now, though it does look smart, but now I prefer a good quality glove that isn't too flashy.

I know at the moment I've got:

Spartan MC LE I've used in about 2 nets, love them but may sell.
Spartan MC 1000 I got on ebay, will flog!
GN Lengends from around 2011 with the 2 black fingers on, used a little but don't anymore, but can't part with them, so nice!
Ton Players sausage used in a few nets and games, keeping them for sunday games.
OLS Plain gloves used loads last season, decent gloves actually but probs getting rid after nets.
Uzi Sports Pro gloves from 2016 I think, great gloves!

And for this season I've got a pair of last year's GM 909s for my match set!

Should keep me going but may as well have a de-clutter!

Who needs gloves? Bare-knuckle cricket 😂
I've got a pair on the way, and I'll get a second before the season starts.

And I thought I was alone in only having a single pair! Although mine are well used Hunts County gloves which I use for nets and matches. I've got a lot of catching up to do!

Don't Use

1 x old GN Matrix that i don't use, but don't throw out but should.

1 x 1st gen B3 splits that I don't use after a ball hit the tip of my thumb and nearly broke it. Superstitious. were on special EOS

1 x SS Dhoni 7 Test Sausage that are a little too short in the fingers. OLS purchase. pity, it's a really nice glove with a one piece thumb. purchased after above.

Do use

1 x 1st gen B3 Sausage that i use for training or second match pair if i'm lucky. were on special same EOS as above.

1 x Blank Bat Sausage that a friend gave me I use in games.

Currently own 5 pairs of gloves:
Match Pairs:
Kookaburra Kahuna Pro 2018 x2
Kookaburra Blaze Pro 2017

Net Pairs:
Kookaburra Blaze 2017
Kookaburra Onyx Pro 2016

I prefer split finger gloves not a fan of sausage finger gloves but also like to mix up the types of splits. Used to prefer the 'U-split' and 'V-split' but know favour the flat split hence my switch over the the Kahuna this season

Hope you're feeling better!

How do you go through gloves so fast? I've used the same pair all last season, nets and all, and am only now considering some new ones but merely to replace the old ones.

Am I missing something?

My knees are a work in progress but ill find out his offseason if ill ever be able to play a front foot shot ever again....or if i need to totally overhaul my technique.

I kill some gloves due to profuse sweat, but i rip gloves in all sorts of strange places . I use smallish gloves for my hand size but used to kill as many pairs wearing larger gloves so that cant be it .I rip holes in the fingers ,the bit where tbe thumb meets the hand , the palm etc. I rip the wristband off the connecting leather ....you name a way to kill gloves and i manage to do it .

I really do try tolook after all my kit and have a kit ocd reputation at my club , so its not like I'm rough with my gloves and mistreat them .

I have given up trying to fix the problem so just bought a shedload of gloves .
