It had to be a 1st div Side if he wants to play for England, sounds like from cricinfo there was some animosity at Kent

He's a very good player and there might be a gap if Vince don't score in NZ

Malan looks like he could be long term so not may gaps to fill

Wish him luck, tough to leave your club after this long

Northeast has joined Hampshire.

Yep, confirmed here, nice shot of him with a Keeley.

Apparently likely to be 4 day captain

Looks like Northeast is a straight swap for George Bailey. As a Hants fan I think this is great business.

Also a Hants fan, it’s a fantastic deal. Him and Vince in 3 and 4 could be very destructive across the formats.

No he tend to bat middle order played against him last year when he played for St Cross with Asher Hart.

Weatherley is a very good batsman went to Kent on loan but struggled.

I see he been opening on the one day stuff.

I hope he gets a look in but looking at Hants i doubt it he hardly got a look in last year.

I know he went to Kent and didn't have a great time of it.

Had a good chat with him at the end of last season, he was presenting the awards at our presentation night

Shame for Joe Weatherely and Tom Allsop

Presumably unless they sign an overseas opener (and I can't think of anyone suitable available) one of them will get a solid run opening even in our strongest XI and with Vince potentially missing for chunks of the season all it would take is 1 injury for a spot to open for both of them.

Yorkshire are announcing a new signing at 7am tomorrow. Time makes me think it’s Indian.... Virat Kohli to play a few CC games?

Be something dull like a new contract being signed by Steve Patterson

It’s not, it is a “ big “ new signing but sworn to secrecy I’m afraid! ;)
