It’s hardly resting a player missing a couple of t20’s is it?

I think they have to take it when they can, with the one day World Cup held in the uk next year you would guess no one wants to miss a 50 over match at the moment....

I'm surprised more don't set their base price low.

50 lakh (the minimum base price for an overseas) is £56k. I'd settle for that for 6 weeks work, which would likely involve rubbing shoulders with the great and the good, having nets, mixing drinks and warming the bench!

Providing it hasn't changed they don't get to keep the full amount as they have to compensate their county.  I remember a few years ago Rikki Clarke got ridiculed because of his high base price but he said he had to set it that high as otherwise he would be losing money from it.

Someone will buy him in the 2nd round.

Bravo went cheap. Few players facing massive drops in salary - gambhir, h singh, yuvraj, pollard

Gayle unsold too

Let me get this straight.....Kane Wlliamson is worth 580k but Stoinis (17 runs in 5 games last year) is 1.2 million?

Special mention for David Miller (who scored a scorching 80 runs in 5 games last year) who gets 580k!

And Pandey, who averages 27 with the bat, gets 2 million.

Personally, I think Bravo and Pollard have been really poor in the BBL in recent times. I cant believe theyve been taken for over a million each.

Well they do have a big following in India, with the jersey sales and brand recognition the value adds up.
Bravo has been exceptional with CSK though in IPL, same pollard with Mumbai so overlooking the bad BBL. Interesting to see what Darcy Short goes for...

Bravo's been good in other t20 competitions around the world.
The prices for some of the indian keepers is crazy - karthik again 1m+

Rashid becomes a IPL millionaire! surprised more teams dont bid up others especially with these right to match cards. Seems teams are scared to go against CSK and do that

Anyone else think that Chris Lynn at nearly 2 million is kinda risky for a guy thats only been fit enough to play 4 games since last May? Does he still get paid if injured?

Woakes 820k, not too bad for a bloke with a habit of taking easy wickets and playing for his average.

Yes very good but Root did not get picked. You can understand why Root wants to go in the auction but is he likely not to get sold at all?

It's really interesting watching who bids on who - the auctions on Sky Channel 809. There is some serious cricketers in that room - Ponting, Kallis, Fleming, Vettori, Sehwag etc...

There is a lot of tactical bidding which can drive up random players prices and also various types of players can be worth inflated prices e.g.. Indian keepers. This due to no one wants to use an overseas in that position so they become a very sort after player.

Also recent form and IPL history can make a player e.g. Bravo and Pollard because the owners have happy memories of them. And recent eye catching form obviously helps.

I think Root didn't get sold because he was up early doors and all the teams wanted to wait and see what happens etc... he has a good chance of being brought back.
