Went a little bit bigger on edge size, as I didn’t weigh the bat, just went on pick up etc, turned out very full, especially low down, but picks up very very nice,,, finished weight will be 2.10 ish, which is a lot heavier than I use normally, so shows how nice it picks up

Looks beautiful!

How's the pickup on this bat? It seems bottom heavy? Did you leave shoulder big/thick to help with the balance?

That shape reminds me a bit of a Purist or Flare. Nice work! Lovely finishing too.

Thank you,,,, it picks up very nice, the spine is high into the shoulders, the bat has very little concaving along the profile, so it’s a very full bat for the weight.
I could have removed a lot of wood from the toe area and got the bat to pick up like a feather, but like I said earlier in the bat shaping, I wanted to keep it as full as possible and really maximise the hitting area.
The finished weight is 2.10.5, and i reckon I could use it in a game, (my match bat is 2.8

Gotta be honest, the purist is one of my favourite shapes, and thank you for the kind words

The bats are superb as always, but I'm very interested in the travisher blades!
What was the starting material?  How did you go about heating and getting the right curve?  Do they fit the 'ray isles' travishers, or do you have your own body design?
I've had a go at making my own, and while they remove wood ok, I'm sure they don't measure up to a real one.
