Pretty straightforward win with 10 men in our first game of the season yesterday.

Lost the toss and bowled on a very green deck that was keeping incredibly low. Restricted them to 119 all out inside 39 overs. We steadily took wickets throughout and fielded well barring a couple of very hard catches. Personally took 1-22 off 7 overs, and my knee held up which is a good sign. Though, my new spikes have given me massive blisters on my heels!

We chased it 2 down in 40 overs and didn't really look in any trouble throughout. Our opener carried his bat for 40-odd and a young lad returning after a couple years away from cricket came back and hit 20-odd to finish the game.

A good win but i suspect they'll be one of the weaker teams we play this year.

Scored like 9, game we should have won. Two blokes on debut who were ringed in both got golden's, Jesus Christ

There’s no way he would mention it but @jamesisapayne had some decent figures at the weekend.

9 overs, 8 maidens, 3 wickets for 1 run

If he hadn’t got a few with the bat as well I’d be calling for torches and pitchforks to run him off the forum as a “bowler spy” in our midst

This is in Div 3 of the Somerset League - impressive

Absolutely slaughtered in our t20 today. Felt like we did a Spurs coming third in a two horse race...
Batted first, struggled to 82/8 off 20. I faced the last 3 balls of the innings, stuck the overseas through extra cover second ball and got 5*. Ifield chased it comfortably, I got 7 balls as the winning runs were off the first ball of my second over. Apart from my first ball, slipped as I bowled and missed the cut strip, think I went for 12 off those 7. Our Kiwi overseas let one through his legs for 4, and a guy reverse swept a googly from off stump for 4.

Some very pink lads out there today, some sticking to long sleeves religiously!

Sooo it was going so well! 74 25 and 49 and then first Saturday league game 4 on a flat hard pitch admittedly against a half decent opening attack. Seem to have a mental block when it comes to Saturdays score runs on any other day of the week...

Another good win today this time for my Sunday friendly side,

Put into bat and hit 168 off 40 overs on a decent wicket with the last 4 wickets going down on 168 and a middle order collapse

I hit 21 batting at six which I’m chuffed with bowlers them out for 150 ish took two wickets one caught and bowled and one caught behind

Took 4 cathed in he innings to!

Really good day and cracking weather to go with it! Looking rather like a lobster now though!

Good game today for @uknsaunders team today, was a good day out and a beautiful day for it. We batted first made 172 AO I top scored with 79 although I was unfortunately involved in two run outs. There were a couple of 15s and a 30 and a lot of extras. Lost the game overall however due to some poor umpiring and some even worse bowling.

Ah! I heard you ran the skipper out (or was at the crease anyway) and copped a dodgy lbw call when set!

Sounded like a tight game in the end going down to the last over though!

How many did the ashorne skipper get? He won’t tell me?

I did indeed, he made 30 I think batted nicely, was a bit gutted when I got that call as I was pretty set and wanted a ton first one for a couple seasons it would have been.

Managed to play Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Saturday I got 43 off 90 balls opening in a tight, low scoring affair where we reached the 146 we needed for victory in the 45th and final over.

Sunday I batted 3 but since the opener fell for a golden I was in early. I made 66 in much quicker time than Saturday before falling to a sharp boundary catch which would have otherwise yielded six. We totalled 305 in our 40 overs and won by 99.

109 for the weekend averaging over 50, can’t complain.

Good! He didn’t get many on Saturday glad he got a few yesterday!

At least you got a few and kick start your season! Napton is a lovely place to play  and you get 2 teas!

Glad you enjoyed it all the same!

They are one of the best teams in our set up.

Certainly seemed pretty handy. James Pearce came to a couple of our nets over the winter, kept bouncing me in my first session back after being injured at training when I still had a hugely swollen arm.
