Lost the toss and get put in. We made 218 off 40, scored an awful 3 before top edging one.

Started off well in the field and took a catch that was in the air for God knows how long, then had them two down before their opener and other blokes around him started taking ones and twos due to some sloppy fielding. They were 160 odd for 6 and looking comfortable when a cannon arm from yours truly ran out their opener on 62, from there the wickets started coming a bit more frequently. Got them all out and a 12 run win with two overs to spare. Great game, but one you hate being a part of. Their over rate was absolutely shocking as well, for a 13:30 start we didn't finished until 20:15!

Got a first ball duck :( but on the bright side we won.
We were struggling at 58/7 having being sent in on a hot day. 80 run partnership followed and we ended up at 169 all out.
Opposition was 3 down for not many and then they had a partnership. They were cruising with 4 wickets in hand and 11 runs to go. Then they decided to self destruct and lost the last 4 wickets for 3 runs. One of their players got 5 wickets and then hit a quick 60+ but unfortunately ended up on the losing side.

Where a helmet guys. One chap saturday, split cheek off a top edge. Chap cut his eye tonight same scenario. On the plus side all sides unbeaten still. Clubs still moving forward.

No idea why I said I’d play tonight.

Anyway I left Belgium at 6 am this morning(5am UK time). Drove for 13hrs, with the tunnel to break up the drive in the middle.

Fetched my kit on the way through.

Got to game 10minites before the start.....

And hit the first ball of the game straight up in the air to mid on. What a day!!

Played as a ringer for a clubmates' work side tonight, very enjoyable. Extremely friendly but everything you'd want in a cricket game - nabbed a catch, runout, wicket and retirement with the bat, plus game went down to scores tied on the final ball... which was a wide. Good fun and valuable time in the middle at least 👍

9am this morning and I get a text stating we have a match tonight at Harewood House and the individual who is supposed to be running the midweek side had forgotten about it. Anyhow, we scraped together a team and I arrived at Harewood House at 6.20pm, see 4-5 of our players warming up so drop my bag off in the away changing room only discover it is inhabited by team of pathologists. It turns out not only did the midweek organiser forgot the match, he then informed us the game was away when it was actually at home. I'm afraid I just got back in the car and drove back to York.

I actually played a game! Was asked to open after fielding at one of the coldest grounds in my area. Scored 21 before being run out by my partner, though the game was in the bag by that point chasing 120 odd. Extras must have been 30/40, I couldn't hit most balls. Very happy- I batted well, played an important innings and we won! My Rob Pack is truly dead though, time to finally use my Kookaburra!

Had our first league game Saturday, we managed to put on 248 off 43.3 (standard hat-trick collapse from the bottom order to finish off the innings). Chipped in with 37 myself so not the worst start to the season.

Naturally we made it difficult for ourselves but still managed to come out with a 15 run win, tense few overs near the end but made for a good game.

At home tomorrow against bottom of the division.
Following last weeks helmet fiasco and my ignominious batting failure I've purchase an helmet which doesn't block my vision so no excuses if I fail to get a score.

Team lost today but I was fantastic ;)

We were 169 all out (I made 7*)

The opposition got it 5 down in 22 overs (with 23 overs to spare). I took 1-22 off 7 including removing their destructive opener. Sadly the damage was done as he'd already made 75 off 30 odd balls at that stage.

We won today!! Sent the oppo back for 104 in 38 overs. One guy made the luckiest 46 I’ve ever seen, edges floating into gaps galor!!

In true hypocritical fashion. I then edged 16 of my first 26 runs through the slips.......

We knocked them off 2 down with 28 overs still left. I made a lucky 73 not out.

Sadly we lost today but I contributed well scoring 93 from 105 balls totally
Uncharacteristic innings from me today but having a lot of confidence with the new neon custom i played some very expansive drives

Chasing 227 we were ten short but in all honesty they shouldn’t have scored as many poor fielding meant we were chasing probably 30 runs too many

A week off next week as it is my wedding - I have asked if we can put it back after today ....
