Lost on Saturday to a team that approached me to join them over the winter. Bowled first, finally got a decent spell, 8/0/29/1, got rid of their main bat exactly as I had planned with a leading edge to cover from a more round arm delivery trying to work it through mid wicket. Keeper dropped a sitter off me in my last over. Oppo declared on 200/9 in the 50th, so we had 50 overs to chase it. Top order didn't do too well besides one who got a not out half century. Batted 11, LBW first ball going back to a spinner when I should have gone forward. Lost by 56 runs.

Won Sunday for Frogs vs a Frogs Invitational XI after Sussex Martlets couldn't get a side out. Batted 5, hit 15 off 8 before smashing a short, wide ball straight to cover point. My batting form has now deserted me through lack of time in the middle. Bowled at the end of their innings and took the final wicket.

Saturday made me very glad I turned down Haywards Heath because their attitude was not what I would want to be involved in- one of our womens team was playing as we were short, so they had 6 around the bat vs spin and started bouncing her vs pace, as well as a couple of other moments involving other team mates. For the next couple of weeks I have been assured I am number 1 spinner with the offie away so I have to take my chance. Which makes it bad timing to have aggravated my old 'golfers/pitchers elbow' fielding yesterday.

@Big Mac the first rule of captaincy is give yourself a game.
Make sure to bat yourself in the top 4 and bowl your full allocation, worry about everyone else after! ;)

While this is extremely tempting, we don't have a keeper so I may have to take the gloves. Of course, that doesn't prevent me from bowling a few overs in the middle overs anyway...

Even better, open the batting and bowling, then take the gloves once you've bowled your allocation!
You'd well and truly be getting your match fees worth that way :D

Maybe I can put your bat to good use while you not playing 😄
