Bruised heel/sprained ankle.

It's mostly fine now but I'm not sure if I could handle 45 overs in the field + running between wickets.

Field in the slips and deal in boundaries - problem solved.  :D

Played yesterday evening (with standard red ball) and we managed to get finished although it was pretty murky by the end of the match. Played 18 overs a side along with a useful rule where wides counted as 2 but no extra delivery which certainly helped to move things along. Opposition scored about 150 and I was hoping to open the batting for the run chase but turned out only 2 of our side knew how to score so you can guess who got handed the scorebook!! Finally did get into bat for last 4 overs but thankfully the ground had decent sized sightscreens so at least I had a rough idea of where the ball was  We ended up well short but I got a few runs, ended up not out and most importantly tucked into sausage and chips afterwards.

cruised home by 9 wickets last weekend chasing 180 in 32 overs. picked up a cheeky 78* batting @ 3 to make it 4 50's in 5 weeks. all 4 teams won so a few beers were sank at the clubhouse.

this week we are away at 2nd place needing 10 points from our last 2 games to stay up, we have top of the league next week. will be spending most of Saturday night hitting F5 on play cricket

I fielded in the slips for a couple of games earlier in the season when my shoulder was injured, dropped three catches  :(

We batted first and got to 157 and they knocked the, off one down in the 29th over. Luckily we avoided the drop as the team below us conceded as they couldn’t get a team out. I scratched around for 2 before playing on. My batting the last couple of weeks has been slow and I’ve been struggling to get anything away. I’ll have to work hard this winter to get my fitness up and come back fitter next year.

Maybe not
Shock result elsewhere may have saved us!
Hearing that the side who hadn't won all year turned over the side below us. If true we've avoided relegation by 2 points

Before today my highest score was 23, i've just tonned up! Ended up with 105

Oppo won the toss and stuck us in, and i came in at 22-1 and left at 220-3. Had a lucky edge miss my stumps early on, flashed one over gully and a guy dropped me on 98 (one of my mates funnily enough!) but felt good from 20 onwards. Smashed loads of 4's and hit plenty of singles off the spinners, played the short ball well and played several KP flicks over mid-wicket for 4. Scored about 90 of them through the leg side as they were bowling on middle&leg all day! Then hit a ball as hard as i ever have to mid-off who grabbed it above his head! We ended up on 260-4 off 45 overs.

It then rained and they were set 201 to win from 33, they were never up with the rate, and we pissed about and only got our full bowling points on the last ball! They were about 100 short. Took a really sharp grab in the gully to end a pretty memorable day for me! I ended up chasing down everything in the field as the ball just seemed to constantly find me, not great when you're tight as anything and can't move after 35 overs of batting!

Hilariously, they had a guy batting for himself at number 5, turning down easy singles as he wanted to try and hit a 13 year old girl on debut out the park. He had a perfectly capable batsman at the other end and had decided he was having his own net, and kept whacking it straight to our boundary fielders and saying "NO RUN". He went about 5 overs without the other guy facing a single ball. His own team were fuming and they were all telling him to stop being selfish and let the other bloke bat. He then mumbled on about how he was far too good for this level (he certainly wasn't) that was like a red rag to a bull, and after not saying a word all game, we started telling him how selfish he was every time he turned down a single and told him we could get the batting cage out if he wanted his own net. He then got bowled middle stump by said 13 year-old, and took his kit and went home apparently shouting "I'll never play for this club ever again" as everyone in the ground laughed at him. (Don't feel sympathetic for him, he spent all day sledging me telling me i was awful and couldn't play the short ball etc.)

Back to back wins for us may mean we can escape relegation in a fashion the frat Houdini would be prou d of. We hit 250/10 in 37 overs I got 79 caught at square leg after top edging a rank log hop - (No Swearing Please) certainly gets wickets.
We bowled the. Out for 150 odd. Would have been less but square leg didnt give his son out stumped when he clearly was. I was standing at point.
Thanks

Lost today in the 45 over format but results our way and two wins out of the last 4 means we have avoided relegation which looked very likely half way thru so absolutely delighted and next week is the last league match we can play without pressure.

Personally a mixed season but more runs than last year by about 50 so I've got to be happy with that after carrying a couple injuries all season.

There's potentially a big move out of London and down South pending for the misses and I so if this was my last season of cricket in London I will leave happy the team remaind in division one and I played a relatively small but decent part of that.

Our thirds have gone up now as Champions as well that means next season 3 out of the 4 teams are in Div 1.

Won today, this means we win the league
Been a real team win with everyone chipping in at important times through the season.
Was especially nice to win today, as the team we beat were a bunch of gobby idiots

Another awful loss.

@CasualSpinner sorry to disappoint, but I got two fours and a wicket...

We were 170ao, I got 8, annoyed their skipper who was following through staring at me, set a field for a bumper before trying to york me which I drove through extra. Tracked him which earned a load of verbal for batting 11 in a team fighting relegation. Nicked off to be last out, tried to run a ball to third man that was too close and got a feather so walked, and received a send off and more verbals. I enjoyed winding their skipper up, yawning after he bounced me as he is an unpleasant piece of work.

Ther opener got an unbeaten 100, they chased our 170 in the 28th over. I got their overseas stumped at the start of my second over, pitched middle and spun past him as he advanced then just held the pose for his defensive shot whilst the keeper took the bails off. Opener then took me on a bit to say the least, probably went at 10s from my 3 overs but nobody came out of it with good figures.

Next week is most likely my last at Ansty, both teams at chalfont have been promoted and the chairman has asked me to go back now they're playing in a better division. I've enjoyed a year at Ansty but not worth the travel.

Split my left index finger whilst taking a return throw in, and had to go off the field to fix it up.

Copped some chat with the bat, out for 0, fielding team behaving like a bunch of morons when celebrating, I gave them a piece of my mind and so did their own umpire!!

Refused to umpire with that bunch of idiots and shake hands at the end of the game.  I was a man of my word when I returned to the changing room about not doing it...

Some of you may call it unsportsmanlike, I don't care, because so is having the bowler run up in your face after getting you out.

Ruined my weekend

Ghastly game today, played with no LBWs... and a chucker and a fair few tantrums!
Still we won the league.
And I think this was the first time I have played in a league winning cricket side.
Just looked up some stats, second time. But still all good.
