Not sure, just standard stuff from Homebase. I then sand with regular sand paper.

Done heaps recently but uploading pics here is a bit of a hassle.
Did this the other week. Lovely bat but was in a horrible state. Not exactly a thong of beauty post refurb due to the damage and missing bit but should have a bit more life in it yet.

I would guess a fairly decent player who middles the ball a lot but also doesn�t use a scuff sheet

Yeah, the lad who�s it is plays for the national side and is a very handy player. Favourite bat so got used for everything, including a lot of bowling machine work. He�s given it up for dead but I repaired a break for him and he asked me if I thought it was possible to get it in a usable state again.

Middles it a lot, that'll explain why I've never seen a bat in that state 😅

So as well as making my own bats now I also now have the facilities to carry out proper repairs. This is a Newbery Phantom that had a toe crack running up the back of the bat. Crack repaired and toe re-shaped to remove a little weight and aid pick up as was a bit bottom heavy.

That's a great repair. I'd be interested to know if it holds on a match situation. Friend at my Club has a GM Original LE with an almost identical crack. If GM doesn't replace it he is thinking it is unmendable...

No reason why it shouldn�t. Did the same repair to one of mine 18months ago and going strong but does depend on the type of batsmen I guess.
If he wants it fixed I�d happily do it for him

Did a bit of light restoration to an old woodworm that�s been sat in the shed for a number of years. Dug it out for the interclub game at the end of the season and really enjoyed using it again, so a good sand down to remove the grub and a coat of oil has it looking well again. New grip time be applied and I will add a scuff too. Will take on more duties next year, mainly friendlies and mess around games, just the odd run out. Like a classic car!

That�s a lovely bit of work. Isn�t easy doing a fedora with it removing the stickers and not leaving it looking a bit tan lined!

Yeah it�s nice, think the �pioneer� was grade 2 if my memory serves...

Still pings really nicely. Can�t believe it�s 15 years old! Can still remember buying it.
