One of the most interesting days I've spent at the cricket for a while.  A pitch that looked like a 275 wicket played like a 120 pitch, and some superb bowling.  Three players, aside from YJB's counterattack in the second dig, really stood out.

For Yorkshire, Harry Brook looked superb second time round.

For Essex, despite all the press, Porter looked average - probably the least threatening of the seven main seamers on display.  Simon Cook, though, looked a serious prospect - some gas, allied to a really challenging length.  Biggest props though went to Dan Lawrence.  The pitch eased post 1500 but his runs were made against a decent attack when it was doing all sorts, and he looked serious quality.

Rory Burns must be putting pressure on Stoneman’s England spot with this knock!

Whatever one might say about the pitches he has made most of his runs on, the two are batting ont he same decks at the moment and its not even close.

On a seperate note, who'd be a top order batsman with some of the pitches around.  Tom Westly got a third straight duck yesterday, as did Aiden Markram.

Not nearly as funny as doing it, and still winning by a hundred!  ;)

I'm having so much fun inviting people to much on their words about this one :)

Saw this and just thought it is a great example of experience and knowing a batsman.

Would appear Bopara now using Keeley bats, saw his using one on the highlights plus there's a pic of him on Tim's Instagram account of him picking some sticks up the other day.

Interesting game between Durham and Leics. Leics got 440 in their first innings and Durham had to follow on. Durham got 403 in their 2nd innings leaving Leics to get 148 to win. Leics went from 79/5 to 101 all out, giving the Pink Panthers the win.

Is County cricket declining in quality? Jake Ball taking wickets for fun yet whenever he plays for England he's been absolute tosh.

Not as cool as winning after being rolled for 50 but quite impressive nonetheless
