Rahim with an absolute howler Tamim would’ve run out Williamson with his direct hit but the keeper knocked the bails off with his gloves

I thought if a player is already injured when the final deadline for picking the squad is reached, how did SA get to replace Steyn?

Poor from SA and I think they are done with this WC.

Suppose SA could argue he was fit at time of selection and got injured in training/during a game in the World Cup.

SA said Steyn suffered a second injury to the same shoulder

Pure speculation but I would have to say that is pure BS.  Dale picked up a second injury right after Ngidi gets injured and SA are short two fast bowlers.

I am pretty sure Faf has said couple of times that Dale was 60 to 80% fit when selected.

What WC pressure does - NZ throwing this away. All the batsmen have got themselves out

The Bangladeshi Tigers no longer the push overs, very awkward side to face.

Been good to see matches played on more bowler friendly pitches. An actual test for the majority of freewheeling batsmen in the current era.

Yup Bangladesh have 2 or 3 really good seasoned pros likes of shakib and Tamim...

I expect to see Afghanistan to become a competitive side in  a  few years too.

First thoughts were Ottis Gibson strikes again - something he would do.

Absolutely bizarre to refuse AbD a comeback

Good on SA (though not surprising) for telling him where to go, De Villiers has embarrassed himself there to be honest. Not a huge surprise given how often he's changed his mind about whether he can be bothered to play for them anymore.

There are definitely 2 sides to this - i do agree that to completely change your mind at the last second like that isn't great, however and it's a very big however..... this is ABdV we are talking about, one of the greatest ODI batsman of all time.

And that doesn't even take into account how shocking the SA batting is, surely in his heart of hearts Du Plessis knew that batting line up wasn't up to it.

Personally would say it's the right call, he made his own bed willingly with all the 'tired' and 'you can't pick and choose when you play' stuff he spouted on about. Not fair on the current players at all. Doesn't look good after 3 losses either, but my guess is the press have kept this on the backburner...

I know what ABD did was wrong by saying no last year but SA are in a big mess as well. I am sure FAF would want him back in squad and SA needs to put their ego aside and accept him back. It might backfire as he has not played a 50 overs game for more than a year now. Its worth a try and see how it goes.
