The hapless and pathetic Ali now gone for 0 as well.

If I had paid for this I would be livid and actually going to stop watching as finding it so embarrassing

Australia currently playing against themselves and likely Test starters Warner, Harris, Head and Patterson all got out to English type seamers like Bird and Neser.

If there’s a fraction of movement Australia will struggle to score 200 in an innings. Despite England’s mishmash top 3, we’ll still hammer Australia

Are you rethinking this now mate?  :D

Our top order hasn't looked settled for sometime, so this although much worse than expected isn't something which was out of the realms of possibly prior to the test. You've also got top give Murtagh some credit, he's bowled good areas.

What odds on none of the 5 Ashes test going into a 5th day?!

This is getting really hard to support and keep supporting!

Same mistakes from experienced players is a joke!!!

Moeen should be no where near international cricket with his current form!!

Let's hope this is typical England and we are (No Swearing Please) first game then very good after that!!

2 day test???

Stokes and Buttler obviously not playing but I'm sure most people's expectations have been adjusted slightly

Serves us right for only giving Ireland a 4 day test this.

GOod to see even the pros struggle with the bane of every club cricketer’s existence - slow (by their standards), accurate, swing bowling.

I have been listening to TMS and seen the majority of the dismissals on the BBC website.

Firstly i will say that Tim Murtagh is one of the finest exponents of bowling at Lords.

However, there are some absolutely atrocious and embarrassing shots there.

Roy - that's a good ball to get early doors on debut that he has to play at, my worry is that he is really pushing at the ball with his hands which isn't the way to go opening up. But he is going to be opening in the Ashes so we have to back him all the way.
Burns - why is he playing at that!! is it that technique? as a LH he has to be better than that at knowing where his stumps are!
Bairstow - it's getting a bit ridiculous how many times he's getting done through the gate with a red ball!
Denly - looked like he was done for pace, which doesn't bode well at all!
Root - Caught on the crease, his footwork is usually far far better than that.
Ali - A bit tentative but it's a good ball going up the hill
Woakes - at least he was trying to get forwards and do the right thing

I know we should never be in this position be should Root have actually been bowling anyway? when you consider the side we have picked and who we are playing against?

Boyd Rankin now has the same number of Test wickets playing against England as he took for England.

You can’t pick two spinners then field first.
