How are you managing to get the finish? High grade papers or adding some hi-fin? The finish looks great

That is a beautiful finish - in the pics it brings out so much detail in the structure of the willow!
Indeed, Northern Monkey has taken things to a whole new level, and has certainly lifted my expectations of how a bat should be finished.
Your bats look fantastic, so congrats on a job superbly done

Like the workshop too!

Really loving the process to be honest, so that's the main thing at the minute.

Looks very nice. What's the spine height and edge depth? Is the first picture showing that it doesn't fit through the gauge?

There's quite a sharp gradient from maximum on spine into the duckbill. Is this a special feature of your design to get better pickup?

It's 2lbs 12oz, spine stops it going through the gauge, so it's probably 69mm ish. Edges are about max in the gauge, so 40mm ish. I'm not overly fussed about specs myself so haven't measured it. Its more about feel and performance for me. This part made was sourced from someone who knows how to press a bat and it really pings all over. As you can see in the Insta video 😁

I made this for a guy I play with who wanted something lighter than his current bat, which is about 2lbs 15oz but he let me choose the shape as he didn't really mind and I just love this profile. It's a fairly common one tbf, but I just think it picks up really well while allowing for plenty of wood low down.

This may just be the bats of yours I've seen (and they all look stunning) but they mostly seem to be low or mid low middles? Have you considered trying a shape with a higher middle?

It�s a very nice and popular shape at the moment, personally I would like to see this shape have a slightly more Square toe for two reasons. Firstly the bat is huge and he square toe just gives the visualisation it�s even bigger in the stance and set up giving the payer even more confidence. Secondly it�s just in vogue lol.

The spine into duckbill looks similar to the new Powerbow which is said by most to have the best pick up in there range to looks like a winning profile to me for a mid/low shape buddy. Finishing looks stunning as well so looks like the brands coming on leaps mate

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah most have been quite low middles, I suppose because I've tended to lean to these as I believe they suit UK pitches better and are also my preferred shape. Although they are also made to requirements, so no problem in making higher middle bats. Will be putting a few stock shapes together, so will be a mid and higher mid in within that.
