In relation to the other thread, though this would help with the width debate. First 3pics show width and weight before the edges are planed. The second three afterwards. Around a mm taken off and 0.5oz lost. Edges are around 38mm,.

So, roughly 1mm off the edge had taken 0.5oz. Didn't seem much, but when you're getting down to 102 its quite a difference

102 really is taking the mick. My bat I had refurbed is 106 which I can live with.. anything below get silly...

I wonder how much you lose after a few refurbs?

That�s helpful I believe you always look to maintain a 107-108mm width even if weight rises a bit but you also use thicker handles to compensate for a decent weight balance

Glad it helped. 107/108mm has been the standard for as long as bats have been made as far as I'm aware, so it's not a case of 'weight rising', as std sh bats shouldn't be 102mm imo anyway. In terms of handles, I make whatever thickness people want. My stock bats will generally have a medium semi oval. Thicker handles well help to balance bats, but there's more to it than just that.

Well someone would disagree with you on that fact mate. Stick a handle in that�s really thick and make a 2.13 bat feel 2.7 lol

I imagine it also depends how heavy the handle is and they do vary in weight

Busy weekend and some lovely sticks made up.

First up is a pretty ugly one, but is huge and only 2lbs 10.5oz, full and pingy! Just shows you get light clefts in all grades and don't need grains to get performance....

Second is a copy of a GM Players Edition. Lovely Grade 2, comes in at 2lbs 11.5oz with a very thick oval handle. This was made for someone after I rehandled the GM, but he hasn't come back to me so it's for sale. Just a smidge cheaper than a players at �279.99 😆 Touches the gauge all over, no concaving. I'll probably change the handle to a medium semi oval, which is more to most people's liking and will bring the weight down a smidge. Picks up great and response is fantastic too....

Third is one for someone a well known bat collector referred onto me (thanks Chad!) And is a G2 which shows a very slight Butterfly stain which only became apparent when shaping. Lovely stick, full profile in my LS200 shape. Gives up about 2mm on the gauge and weighs bang on 2lbs 12oz as requested. No stickers yet as customer is coming just to check it before I add them. Great performance again and nice pick up with a medium Semi oval handle.

That big, ugly one is right up my street, looks an absolute monster. Churning out some lovely sticks at the moment mate!
